What customers say
This is a very clean, well-maintained campsite with spacious, level pitches and a relaxed atmosphere. Visitors consistently praise the friendly and helpful staff, modern and spotless toilet and shower facilities, and the convenient on-site shop and cafe offering hot food. The location is ideal for exploring the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley, with easy walking access to Coleford town. Some minor points raised include the children's play area being more suited to older children, and the access road being steep and bumpy. Overall, a highly recommended site that many plan to revisit.

Electric optional grass pitch
Liked Excellent facilities, clean and new toilet block. Well maintained. Site very quiet after 10pm. Flat pitch’s. Lovely little shop selling breakfast, snacks and camping essentials. Just off main road. Easy walk into Coleford 15mins (down then up a hill). Local park close - 5 min walk. Lots to do locally so don’t have to drive out to far to find things to do. Very friendly staff.
Disliked Play area could have been more suitable for younger children.

A good quality site with clean facilities and level pitches.
Electric optional hardstanding and grass touring pitch
Liked The campsite was beautiful, everything nice and clean and flat pitches. Facilities were nice and everything was easy to find in terms of bins, waste etc. A really nice walk from the campsite onto a public footpath if you ask for directions from reception.
Disliked Cafe breakfast in the morning seemed a bit unorganised and made our departure much later than expected. We ordered some breakfast rolls and were told to come back in 20 minutes but didn’t actually receive them for an hour which was a little frustrating!
Arrival information could have been a bit more welcoming - a long list of rules and things not to do which is to be expected but maybe could have been followed up with nearby walks and activity information or listed some of the fun things that were included in the site.

From the manager: Thanks for your feedback. I can only apologise for the wait for the breakfast rolls - it was quiet so we put some extra cakes in the oven and then we got super busy! Lesson learnt!
There is information on local activities - I am sorry that you do not seem to have been made aware of this.

From the manager: Hi Jo
I am sorry to hear that your stay was spoilt by noisy neighbours! We do have a noise policy in place and would have come up and dealt with the issue if you had called us - I am so sorry if you were not made aware of this.
Thanks for the feedback about the toilet rolls - I will mention that to our tam and we will increase our checks.
We do hope to welcome you back.

Electric optional grass pitch
Liked Generous pitch size, Clean site, immaculate facilities and very friendly reception and staff / other campers very friendly - great location hikers and cyclists
Flexible around to check out time

Great site, clean and tidy and very welcoming
Camping pod
Liked Lovely Campsite, Pod was ideal for a short break for me and my 8 yr old, no stress of putting tent up. Decent size fridge and plenty of sockets, decking area with chairs and coffee table and the Pod was shaded by a tree which was very welcome in 30 degree heat. Lovely little shop open until 4pm. The toilets and showers were immaculate, 10 mins drive into a the small town of Coleford and 10 mins to Puzzlewood which did not disappoint, fire pits and logs available to hire but we took our own.
Staff and owners were very friendly and kind- waste and recycling facilities clean and tidy and kept on top of. Quite in the evenings - all round great site would definitely return
Disliked Nothing really, would be nice if the shop was open later.

Liked Great campsite, clean facilities, friendly helpful staff. Good base for all activities and attractions in the Forest of Dean. You can walk to Coleford or use public footpaths for lovely walks straight from the site.

An excellent site for youngsters first experience of camping.
Electric optional grass pitch
Liked The layout: large site sectioned into smaller field so campers could easily interact (or not). Like a street in a village. Great facilities. Fantadtic, safe freedom for children. Wendy house by reception very well used by 5yr old granddaughter and friends and the kids area with the climbing frame a magnet for older children.
Disliked Pitch was not grassy.
