You’ll be hard pressed to find a site that’s closer to the coast than Camping Opatija – getting to the seashore from this peaceful Kvarner site is a simple matter of walking down 65 steps. Once you’re down there you’ll have a choice of sitting on the beach or strolling along to the harbour area for fishing supplies, boat trips and kayak/paddleboard rentals. Proximity to the water isn’t the only selling point of this place though – it’s also got a fabulous spot in the woods just on the edge of the village of Ičići. That means you’ll have a chilled-out natural setting to relax in, with plenty of shade and privacy and a quiet atmosphere (well, apart from the chirping of the crickets…) At the same time, you’ll still be able to walk to pretty much everything you need – including a supermarket, cafés and places to eat. Looking to explore a little further afield? Getting out and about should be easy enough, as the site is only a short way from the main road. It’ll take you about five minutes to drive to the elegant seafront town of Opatija and half an hour to Rijeka – or you could opt to stick with the natural views by heading up into the Učka Nature Park (15 minutes) for a hike. Dogs are welcome to join you on the pitches here, which are simple in style but have access to wifi, a washing-up area, toilets and showers.

喜欢: Staff was alright.

不喜欢: Close to the road. Loud traffic noises 24/7... Ground is not level enough fot tents.

喜欢: Ältere aber saubere Sanitäranlagen. Freie Platzwahl, Spät ankommer willkommen.

不喜欢: Seltsame Abrechnung... Strom extra obwohl in Buchung irgendwie enthalten. Eine Art Rezeptionsgebühr haben wir hier das erste Mal bezahlt. Die Flächen sind sehr uneben. Der Strand ist öffentlich und der schlechteste den wir auf unserer Reise gesehen haben. Aber hierzu am besten die entsprechenden Rezessionen im Internet lesen.

喜欢: Szép rendezett parcellák . Vizesblokk tiszta folyamatosan takarítva . Nagyon szép tengerre néző kilátás .

不喜欢: Nem , nem kedveltük csak a lépcsőzés a 4 . napon már picit fárasztó volt.

Come to this part of Croatia for the coastline? There are lots of ways to take it all in, including hiring kayaks or paddleboards (10 minutes’ walk), settling on Peharovo beach (five minutes’ drive) or making your way to Moscenice (15 minutes) for a stroll around the pretty village before heading down to the beach for a swim in the clear turquoise waters. For a different kind of seaside view, make your way to Opatija (five minutes) for a stroll along the 12-kilometre seafront promenade – see if you can spot the 'Walk of Fame' on the high street too, filled with the names of various Croatian talents. Rijeka (half an hour) is primarily known to many tourists as a port city, but it's worth spending some time there to visit the castle, see the Roman Arch and wander around the modern art museum. Sticking to countryside pursuits, there are some lovely hiking and cycling trails in Učka Nature Park (15 minutes), including some that lead to a waterfall, an ancient garden or up to the tower on top of Mount Učka.
