Banish any visions of a stressy holiday stuck in hot cars and slow traffic out of your head… At North Shore Holiday Centre, a family-friendly Lincolnshire site 10 minutes’ walk from the centre of Skegness, you won’t have to travel far to stay busy once you arrive. North Shore is on the outskirts of Skegness, and there’s plenty of seaside resorty things to do within easy reach of the site: the sandy beach, pier and town centre are all within walking distance, and you’ll have to drive for less than 15 minutes to get to the museum, nature reserve, aquarium or theme park. There’s tons to keep you busy on site too: play a round of miniature golf, perfect your end-game at the nine-hole pitch and putt, have a go at bowls or boules, try out the arcade games and go game-set-match on the tennis courts. Feeling peckish? There are oodles of eateries within 25 minutes’ walk of North Shore, or you can settle in for a meal on site – call in to the fully-licensed bar-restaurant, then stick around for the evening’s entertainment.

Tyckte inte om: Pitch! Concreted base so incredibly difficult to put pegs in! Water connection was too far away so had to buy a new house pipe, water water point was in completely the wrong place! Only one toilet block and chemical point is too little for such a large site. Only a single key card supplied and needed this for everything so made it very challenging when using toilets, showers or chemical points.

24 foot tomt för husvagn med elektricitet på grus

Tyckte om: Plenty of toilets and showers. Showers decent pressure and temperature. 2 different play areas for children. Space for children to kick a ball around and play bat and ball, away from the caravans. Laundrette available which is a bonus if rubbish weather like we had! Flat level pea shingle type pitch. After reading other reviews, I was worried about the electricity use, but we only used £10 of our £30 given for a 6 night stay, including using our heating etc. Reception staff were friendly and helpful. Was allowed to move the caravan off pitch and leave it on site while we popped out before our journey home on checkout day. Shop is fantastic and has pretty much anything you need, from food and drinks to caravan spares, but most importantly, not hugely inflated like some sites. Site quiet enough for children to ride bikes or scooters. Short walk to the beach, which you can also follow the coastal path to Skegness centre/pier etc. We liked we could use the pool of another site owned by the same company, which is only a 10 min drive away. The site itself is well maintained, even given the awful weather we had.

Tyckte inte om: Although cleaned twice a day, and despite going in as its just been cleaned, the facilities could definitely use a much deeper clean. Would also benefit from a shower curtain to save your clothes etc getting wet while your showering. Would benefit from a family shower too, to make it easier to wash young children. Also wasn't keen that the womens sinks are through a separate door, so once you've used the toilet, you have to touch the door handles to go wash your hands (not great for hygiene!) (Not the sites fault) grass areas on pitches floods when it rains, so becomes VERY boggy. Thankfully we could fit our awning on the hardstanding with the caravan and park car elsewhere to stop the bog entering our living spaces. Unfortunately we found the bar staff extremely rude on every encounter, which is a shame as it meant we didn't use the bar/restaurant as much as we'd planned to. Pitches are tight to back the caravan onto if you don't have a motormover, especially if ones infront are already occupied. We managed but it's very tight so some may struggle. *not sites fault* unfortunately there was a large number of people staying, including seasonal pitchers, who were an absolute nightmare with awfully behaved children, who were hurting other children and breaking the play area. Shooting other kids with BB guns, riding an electric scooter around swearing at people outside their caravans. For these reasons, we will not be coming back. A shame as it's not a bad site, and an ideal location for lots of days out.

Any stay at North Shore Holiday Centre should start with a thorough exploration of Skegness as there are loads of places within five minutes’ drive you’re going to want to add to the list. Kids will want to dive into the aquarium, the fairground and the brightly lit amusements of the pleasure pier, while grownups might have more appreciation for the Naturelands seal sanctuary or The Village, Church Farm open-air museum. Want something for everyone? The entire family should be entertained with trips to Fantasy Island theme park (in nearby Ingoldmells), the Lincolnshire Coast Light Railway and the stock car and bangers racing at Skegness Raceway, all within 10 minutes of the site. When you want to take your adventuring beyond the bounds of the seaside town, you can find peace 15 minutes away from the thrill rides and squealing tyres with visits to Gibraltar Point Nature Reserve or the flat Lincolnshire Wolds for cycling and walking trails, or by making a pitstop at the spectacular Gunby Hall and Gardens for a taste of splendour. For a quirkier outing, make your way a little further afield for a night at the Kinema in the Woods, believed to be the only full-time cinema in the UK still using rear projection for screenings. Screen one is home to an organ covered in 18th-century-style lacquered consoles and screen two has trompe l’oeil-style paintings of rural Lincolnshire on its walls.
