A beachside holiday under canvas – and you don't have to lift a finger to get it all ready? Set your compass for Kampaoh Gala, where the tents are all set up ready and waiting for a fabulous stay next to the golden sands of Praia da Cova Gala. About 10 minutes’ drive south of the centre of Figueira da Foz, this glampsite makes a great spot for a family holiday, a retreat with your other half or a getaway with a small group of pals. Direct access to the beach is a real highlight, of course, but there are plenty of other facilities here too, including a beachside restaurant, a bar (with kid-friendly snacks during the day), a swimming pool and an outdoor fitness area. Time to cool off indoors? Head to the games room, or flop in front of Netflix in the TV room. The furnished tents here have been set up to make your holiday nice and easy – they've all got beds, bed linen and mosquito nets provided, along with handy extras including a cool box and electric sockets for charging your gadgets. Figueira da Foz is a popular seaside resort, with spectacular beaches and plenty of activities and attractions to keep you busy during your stay. If you fancy a break from beach time, you can also take a trip inland to the lovely city of Coimbra.

Lokale bezienswaardigheden

Let’s be honest: you may well spend much of your time here simply lounging on the gorgeously long and wide stretch of sand next to the site. If you can manage to leave it behind, though, there are plenty of other things to do nearby – even if you just make the trip into Figueira da Foz (10 minutes’ drive) to wander around the Palácio Sotto Mayr, the Núcleo Museologico do Sal and the Fort of Santa Caterina before hitting another of the town's beaches. Looking further along the coast, you may like to take walks to scenic spots like Miradouro do Cabo Mondego (15 minutes) or head to Nazaré (55 minutes), well known as the surfing capital of Portugal. Turning sights inland, you can visit historic attractions like the abandoned monastery at Mosteiro de Santa Maria de Seiça (15 minutes) and the castle of Montemor-o-Velho (20 minutes), or continue on to Coimbra (50 minutes) to stroll through the cobbled streets and see all the medieval architecture.
