  • Dog-friendly site on a working farm in Rhos on Sea
  • A 25-minute walk from the beach and a 10-minute drive from Llandudno
  • Surrounded by country walks and a short walk from pubs and a shop
Country walks, pub lunches and buckets full of beach trips… to list out every single thing you have to look forward to at Dinarth Hall Caravan and Camping would take some time, as this North Wales site is very conveniently based in the town of Rhos on Sea, 10 minutes’ drive from Llandudno and five minutes’ drive away from Colwyn Bay Beach. If you’re very much a countryside sort of person, it’ll be nice news that the site is on a working farm setting surrounded by fields and country walks with horses frequently passing by the site. There are just basic facilities, including toilets, showers, a washing-up area and a washing machine and dryer for laundry. There’s a lovely country pub just half an hour’s walk away for your supper or an American diner-style restaurant 10 minutes’ walk away in the other direction. If you’d rather sort yourself out, have a wander up the hill to the small shop 10 minutes’ walk away. The bus, which stops at the end of the road, comes just over every 10 minutes if you feeling like abandoning the car for the weekend. Not that you’ll need it that much if you’ve got beach days at the top of your agenda, because it’s only a 25-minute walk to Rhos on Sea beach and Colwyn Bay Beach is also within walking distance. If you’re driving to Colwyn Bay, there’s plenty of parking (and lots of ice cream vans to go with that). You may want to shift your watersports gear or bicycles down there, as there’s a cycling path along the front and often great conditions for some water activities.

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked: Stunning view surrounding the site, facilities were very clean, local shops within minutes way. Lots of activities to do not far away great location.

Disliked: Not so much disliked but think we just chose the wrong spot, a group of young adults pitched up close by foul language and music past 1am. Was a little boggy in places but you can't help the weather.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked: Countryside feel to the location but close to the village & local amenities. Also very close to areas we wanted to visit & explore - Colwyn Bay, Llandudno & Penrhyn. Our son enjoyed the small play area and the fact you could see a variety of animals on the farm - cows, chickens, horses & ponies.

Disliked: Longer walk to the shower block but this was all manageable and not a huge problem.

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked: Location of the campsite was brilliant, there were many different qualities to this location. We are a family of 5 the children were very happy there were farm animals on site to see and toilet blocks were only a short walk for them to access. The views on this site were really amazing and it was very relaxing. There was free wifi to access also the only downside was you didnt get a connection to it once in your tent but its not a major issue Also the location was good for access to many things there was a co-op 10 minutes up the road and just a little further from there was a hickorys smokehouse, also there are other things close by the opposite way such as a chip shop more shops and a garage. The location is a short drive away from llandudno and also rhos on sea We really loved our stay at the location an we would be more than happy to return

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked: Location. Cleanliness, although showers and toilets were a bit old they were perfectly ok to use day and night.

Disliked: Mud -couldn’t be helped with rain however staff were accommodating in turn to put you in least muddy places.

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked: Excellent location. Campsite was out of the way enough that it was quiet and chill but also close enough to local bus services as well as the National Express service. Toilets always kept clean and stocked. Laundry on site. Was able to arrive after reception closed and return in the morning to pay which was a massive bonus for us as our bus didn't arrive early enough for check in. Campsite wasn't packed so had our own space and the 11pm noise curfew meant a wonderful nights sleep. Farm animals were also lovely to look at with horses galloping in the field just behind us.

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked: Location was great just up the road from Llandudno. Friendly staff.

Disliked: The field wasn’t really fit for camping. Too wet too lumpy. Water logged fields. So muddy all over the sit. Facilities very basic. Not close to camping field. Overflowing bins. Never even saw the kids playground. Also when I booked it said there was no electric hook up. Yet there was plenty.

Local attractions

Llandudno (10 minutes’ drive) is a cracking spot for a good wander, with shops, a pier, a promenade and a beach. You may spot a few goats wandering around the edge of town; they’ll have lost their way from Great Orme (20 minutes) just past Llandudno. The green limestone slopes of the Great Orme are not just for the goats, of course, with a tramway and a cable car providing access to the fab views from the 209-metre slope, a café or a playground. Back in Llandudno, get picked up by one of the open-top buses which run in summer from Llandudno Pier. They head over to stunning Conwy (10 minutes’ drive), past the spectacular 13th-century Conwy Castle, cobbled streets, bakeries and the cobbled streets typical of such a traditional Welsh port town.
