Primitive grass campsite

Liked: Great location by Leith Hill, good for walks. Plenty of space for children to run about and play in the middle of the field. Quiet at night. Hot running water for washing up and good shower/toilet block.

Disliked: Pitches further down the field had a less scenic view of farm buildings, equipment etc.

Primitive grass campsite

Liked: Spacious pitches! Good access to the Surrey 3-peaks hiking & biking. Hot showers. Great peeps in the local farm shop… in particular Charli. Great meat stocks… plus other basics.

Disliked: Not signposted… can’t easily miss the entrance… the SatNav takes you eisewhere! Unisex toilets/showers… not a great place to be at when the Duke of Edinburgh awards groups/lads are in situ… very messy/unclean! There needs to be strict rules in place as other campsites! Surprisingly the Shop doesn’t stock any veg. Does not provide freezer block freezing facilities… have to buy bags of ice cubes! Costly during hot weather!

Primitive grass campsite

Liked: Nice site with flexible checkout time which was great for us! There’s 2 fields and you can pull up where you like. We chose the 2nd field because there was a big school group in the other one. Not a problem but they were quite loud! Nice walk into the nearest village via the wooded track, there a nice pub in the nearby village.

Disliked: 2 things I personally didn’t like were: 1 - check in was in the farm shop which also acts as a butchers. The lady who checked us in was in the middle of plucking a bird when we arrived. I know it’s a working farm but this wasn’t something I like to see when I check in! 2 - the toilets and showers are unisex, although this doesn’t really bother me personally, I felt it wasn’t appropriate when the have school groups.
