Whether you’re after nature hikes, a gastronomic break or a holiday where you can reconnect with your inner self, Società Agricola Cacigolara might be the answer to your prayers. This peaceful site sits on a farm on the edge of the Riserva Naturale Regionale Oasi WWF dei Ghirardi, a protected area of woodland and meadows stretching across the Apennines, near the border of Emilia Romagna with Tuscany. These woods are renowned for their porcini mushrooms, which you can sample at the on-site restaurant. Booking is compulsory, because the food – which is made with organic, seasonal and own- (or at least locally) sourced ingredients – is prepared to order. Incidentally, own-made products such as jams and fruit liqueurs (plus herb-based beauty lotions) are available to buy. So that’s the hikes and gastronomy dealt with. What about that wellness break? First of all, there are yoga lessons – you can practise your asanas and your breathing in a geodesic dome while taking in views of the forested mountains. For something even more meditative, sign up for a shiatsu or Ayurvedic massage (couples massages are also available). Accommodation is in large, colourful yurts (on wooden decks for additional insulation) with real beds (bed linen and towels are supplied), electricity and heat pumps. Each yurt has its own dedicated toilet and hot-water shower. Then all that’s left for you to do is chill – in a shaded hammock, in the outdoor pool or by taking a leisurely stroll through the hills with your dog, a welcome guest here – as long as you keep them on a leash so they don’t spook the resident cows, goats, rabbits and horses.

Admission

All guests spending the night at the park must present their ID at the reception desk and sign registration forms.
Guests under the age of 5 are not allowed on site.
Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

Arrivals and departures

Late arrivals must notify the park as soon as possible. Your booking will be held for 24 hours. After this period the management reserves the right to relet your unit.
No refunds/discounts for inclement weather, late arrivals or early departures.

Changes to your holiday

Bookings cannot be amended within -3 day(s) of arrival.

Dogs

Dogs must be kept on leads and supervised at all times.
Guide dogs are allowed on site free of charge.
