Electric grass tent pitch
Liked: We arrived on a tench pitch which was small but adequate for our needs. We made use of all facilities within the site and were also pleased that we were allowed barbecue and campfire without any indifference from anyone (campfire a must when camping). Toilet block was immaculate and was cleaned regularly , local shop was well stocked. All in all a great little trip for us and my wee dog. Thank you. We'll come back some time.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch
Liked: Good pitches, clean site, communications and no check in was good. Laundry area good. Nice swim in the sea. Shop on site. Friendly people.
Disliked: Crows! These helped to drown out the road noise though but they are incessant, the site is next to the main A74. There were a few people not obeying the dogs on lead rule which with a large reactive dog made for some stressful situations. Not a lot to do if you haven’t got transport off the site (ie the van isn’t moveable once setup) no footpaths off the site. The 2 small beaches are just that.

Liked: Showers Take away place
Disliked: The pitch wasn't flat/level. The crows constant squawking from 4am pretty irritating. Some static caravan user opposite pitch p005g was letting her dog dump on the pitch caught her a few times so gave her some verbal. Also smelt weed been smoked when we arrived.

Electric grass tent pitch
Liked: The holiday park is in pristine condition. We were camping with electric and water and had a beautiful stream running past the tent. The toilet and shower facilities were spotless and had a disabled cubical. I have a daughter who is disabled and uses a walker so to have tarmac roads right throughout the park was easy for my daughter to use. There is a steep hill from the main shop (premier) reception down to the camping area which was to steep for her to use but it only took me a minute to jump in the car and go to the shop when needed and I would like to say that the shop had everything you needed and it was just as cheap as you would find it in any other local store. The site is built on a big gradient towards the swimming pool/ entertainment/gym/sports bar/teen zone/arcade/chip shop and restaurant complex and also to the beach but my daughter managed with a little help from her dad. The small private beach was stunning and nestled in a cove which was just amazing to have within the park. The staff were very pleasant and attentive and all seemed very happy in their work place 😀. We were only there for 2 nights but managed to enjoy the swimming pool twice, had a boogie at the disco, had my first game of bingo😂, and enjoyed an evening from a singer singing songs from the 60’s right through, to the present day. We didn’t get a chance to sample the food as we brought our own but there was plenty to choose from, it had a chip shop, restaurant and takeaway delivery service. The views from just about anywhere in the park look out over the sea. We came home feeling relaxed and refreshed. The best camping trip we have been one and will be back and only 2 hours 30 mins drive from Edinburgh. Thank you Auchenlarie Holiday Park and the wonderful staff for providing an awesome service.

Electric grass tent pitch
Liked: There were loads of really good amenities on the sight, including a pub large enough to hide from the weather in with our dog. I liked that every tent pitch had its own water and electrical hookup. The toilet blocks were cleaned very consistently throughout the day (though did get a little grotty at night).
Disliked: We would have slept a lot better if all of the tent pitches had been levelled out, rather than finding ourselves sliding down a slope in the night. The layout doesn't necessarily reflect that tent users would benefit most from being nearer the various eating and drinking spots. I didn't love that the free wifi appeared to run out after 24 hours, the daily rate was a little steep for no apparent reason and the connection was mediocre.
