Liked: Space to camp together. Nice countryside.
Disliked: No toilet paper in any of the female toilets the night we arrived. Only put in there around 9am the next morning so had to use own supplies. We'd walked 18 miles with heavy backpacks and so was expecting nice facilities for £20 each (the most expensive campsite ever for just sleeping in a bothy bag) but was shocked to see only 3 female toilets for the entire campsite and with no toilet paper. Was also very noisy. People in the campsite started to quieten down by 1am. No reception, just a number on a coded gate.

From the manager: I am sorry you didn't enjoy your stay with us. I have an ongoing problem with toilet paper. I try to provide quality paper, but yesterday morning I put 3 rolls in the dispenser in each of the toilets, by the time I had walked around the site 2 out of 3 had been stolen. So I must revert to the cheap thin paper on a lockable drum. Stealing toilet rolls seems to be a favourite game for campers. As to price, our price is £20 a pitch. For that, you could bring two people and a large camper/caravan or tent. I regularly have walking or cycling groups, usually the organiser gives me a ring and we do a deal. I had security patrolling late in the evening, and they reported that all was quiet on the campsite. We were busy, it being the bank holiday.

Liked: We have stayed at this site several times, the atmosphere and location are good, the facilities have been replaced this year and despite the site being busy the facilities were not crowded. The path to the village had been well maintained over the winter with the undergrowth being trimmed back. Great for winding the hours away and with no light pollution it is excellent for sitting back watching the satellites.
