Liked: Lovely Basic site in a idealistic setting close to sherwood forest and clumber park we will definitely be returning
Disliked: If I'm being picky the bins around the site could do with being emptied more often and being close to Gamston airport when it's nice there's a fair amount of light aircraft overhead

Liked: Beautiful location, this is our second time staying here as a family with friends and it won't be our last.
Disliked: £10 to hire a firepit plus £10 for a bag of pine, not firewood, felt quite expensive
Recommend to friends Visit again
From the manager: Thank you for your review The reason for our prices of wood is due to our supplier prices going up unfortunately. The reason for the price of fire pits is due to them being stolen from our site in previous years. The cost us money to make too. The cost of the washing machine and the welding of the legs. Kind Regards The Old Vicarage Team

Liked: River with swing / zip line / childrens play area is great & for the adults too!
Disliked: Requires more toilets / shower facilities. Caravan pitches are not that level & has a tight driveway but do able
Recommend to friends Visit again
From the manager: Hi Thanks for your review We are waiting for the toilet facilities to be installed. As you may have seen they are on our driveway due to the level of the river we are unable to take them across at the moment. This is why we only allow caravans up to 7.5m due to the ease of access to the site. Thanks The Old Vicarage Team

Liked: The location is a little gem, it's so stunning and peaceful. The owners are super friendly and helpful, and you are allowed to have open fires which is great.
Disliked: The only thing that lets this site down is the shower and toilet blocks, however having spoken to the owners, they are aware of the issues and planning on upgrading this area

From the manager: Thank you so much for your lovely review. Yes, we do have our toilets ready to go on the lane but we cannot move it across at the moment due to the river being high. Kind Regards The Old Vicarage Team

Liked: The settings around this old rectory are absolutely stunning. The river that runs through the camp ground is pristine and if this level of river was running through a small village or green it would win awards for sure. The amenities were spot on with wifi boosting around the site plus clean toilets and showers and everything else you need for a camping holiday (caravan aswell). We really enjoyed our stay and the owners are wonderful people, so polite and friendly. They also let us pick exactly where we wanted to pitch up. We left today all saying what a little hidden gem that we have found. Thanks for the hospitality and we will surely be there again.
Disliked: There was nothing we disliked about the place or our stay (if anybody comes to a place like this and has any complaints, we'll maybe the camping and caravan life isn't for them).

Liked: Absolutely love this site, we’ve been here numerous times.
Disliked: Facilities could be better looked after. Broken shower head, fridge/freezer dirty.
Recommend to friends Visit again
From the manager: Hi Thanks for your review Can you let us know in regards to which shower head is broken please as these have both been replaced before the easter holidays? If you had informed us about the free use fridge freezer being dirty we could have cleaned this out for you. We do not go in this fridge freezer when it is in use as we do not want to throw away someones food by mistake. Regards The Old Vicarage Team

Liked: Views and surroundings were amazing kids loved the river to play in and exploring around the site
Disliked: Cleanliness of the facilities were not great, this included the toilets/shower shed and the washing up area with fridge freezer and fridge

From the manager: Thanks for your review. The toilets and showers are cleaned on a daily basis and the wash house too. If you weren't happy with the cleanliness you should've informed one of us and we could have sorted this for you! We do ask for the facilities to be left in the way you wish to find them by all campers. Regards The Old Vicarage Team
