Fancy a stay on a family-run farm… with direct access to a beach below? Make your way to Pencarnan Farm Caravan and Camping Site, a 96-acre farm overlooking Porthsele beach on the Pembrokeshire coast. The site is on the most western tip of Pembrokeshire, with views of St Georges Channel connecting the Irish and Celtic seas. You'll be in good company with a stay here: generations of the same family have been running the site since the mid-1950s, a holiday spot for guests who return year after year – some with their kids and grandkids now in tow. This place is just the ticket for outdoor adventures too, as it's set directly above Porthsele beach (with private vehicle access so you can cart all your kit along with you). The sea and bay are safe for swimming and kayaking, and there are plenty of rockpools to explore at low tide. If you haven’t got your fill of sea breeze, surfing beach Whitesands is a one-mile walk along the coastal path or, if you’re feeling adventurous, a half-mile swim or kayak from Porthsele. Sorting supplies is easy at the farm too: in the high season, a site shop is on hand with camping and food supplies, wetsuits and logs for beach fires, and a coffee hut opens every day. A bar and pizzas are also available at peak times.

Gostou: The pizzas were nice The shop was ok Facilities were ok The rain dripped through their courtyard shelter and didn't put the umbrellas up until after I was there. Coffe and cakes were nice. Washing up area was ok but could be bigger. Also a coat pegs would be useful.

Não gostou: The shop would benifit from selling heaters and propane bottles. The wetsuit tub was horrible that could be improved. Need a none leaking shelter roof. Pizzas could be bigger. Maybe a path around the site so mud isnt a problem.

Gostou: This place was a dream with the most beautiful views, the fields are lovely & big and we loved that they haven’t over crowded them. We had such stunning weather on Saturday felt like we could have been abroad The beach was stunning although if you struggle walking you won’t be able to get down but you’d be able to enjoy the views from above. Toilets & showers were nice & clean The shop sells the most nicest sausages rolls! (Wish we got some to take home) The coffee bar sells lush brownies Just a shame we had to cut our trip short as the husband fell ill but we can’t wait to return soon!

Gostou: The scenery is stunning the toilets and facilities are a high standard and clean. The staff are super super friendly and even opened the shop up so we could grab something. It’s dog friendly too so it’s a bonus. It’s a ten minute walks from the most stunning coastal path and 5 mins from the cutest beach. There is a shop, bar, coffee shop and pizza place on site.

Gostou: Beautiful area, nice beach accessed from the site.

Não gostou: Pretty much everything else. Waterlogged pitches, no facilities open for eating,drinking or buying supplies. Shower block needed updating and not very clean. Extortionate price, £39 per night. Most expensive we have been on. We have been touring the Welsh Coast and have stayed on five other sites. We have been very happy with all the others and have given good reviews. This is by far the most disappointing site we have visited.

You will have noticed that the site was quiet during your stay right at the start of May in a rainy week. This is why we only open The Courtyard during high season. It is simply not doable otherwise, although we'd love to be open all year round! I do hope you let someone know about the shower block. Gostou: Loved everything. Beautiful views and friendly staff. I came alone with my dog to relax and that’s what I got. Amazing for wild swimming and exploring rock pools. The pizza wasn’t open when I stayed but I didn’t mind. Lovely clean shower and toilet block facilities.

Gostou: The location is amazing, scenery and views were amazing, but our short stay was affected by the weather. The facilities onsite were great but unfortunately we weren’t able to make the most of them as we stayed a week before the bar and pizza shack opened for the season. I have no doubt that this is truly an amazing place where happy memories are made when the sun shines and we look forward to returning in the summer.

Atrações locais

This is heaven for beach buffs: Porthsele and Whitesands beaches are both within walking distance of Pencarnan. At Porthsele, take your pick from kayaking, surfing and paddleboarding from its sandy shore; if fishing's more your bag you can fish for mackerel, pollock and seabass from the beach and from certain points on the cliff around Pencarnan's land. There are also a few marked climbing spots around the cliffs on the land and some good entry points for coasteering or a coastal swim back to Porthsele beach… followed back at base with a sunset beach fire or barbecue to end the day. The famed surfing centre of Whitesands, a mile away on the coast path from Pencarnan, has a café, deckchairs and wetsuit hire, plus lifeguards in the summer months. Heading south, St Justinian’s (under a mile away along the coast path) is home to RNLI St Davids Lifeboat Station and a departure point for boat trips around, onto and beyond Ramsey Island to spy seals, seabirds, porpoises, whales, dolphins and sharks. Make time too for a trip to the tiny city of St Davids, to browse its shops and galleries and take a look at sixth-century St Davids Cathedral.

Late arrivals must notify the park as soon as possible. Your booking will be held for 24 hours. After this period the management reserves the right to relet your unit.

In the event of a complaint, please speak to reception immediately. Complaints which are not brought to the management's attention during your stay cannot be dealt with once you have left the site.
The management reserves the right to deny access or terminate the stay of those guests whose behaviour is deemed unsuitable. No refunds will be offered.
Quiet hours must be respected between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m..
