Garth Farm Caravan and Camping

Gostou: We really liked the location, you can walk & cycle from the site. The campsite is lovely and quiet - plenty of birdsong, though. We had an electric pitch - we liked that each pitch has its own water supply. The facilities were clean. Fresh farm eggs available to buy - really lovely eggs!! There was a chicken coop with a mother hen and clutch of chicks which we really liked, too. The owner is very attentive - great communication - which was much appreciated.

Não gostou: No obvious recycling provision - seems all rubbish & recycling all goes in one bin.

Gostou: Good size hard standing with a large grassed area for the awning. Water and EHU to each pitch (15-25m) cable required

Gostou: Good location. Nice and quiet. Nice surroundings. Not too far from withernsea centre. Friendly owners of site. Clean facilities.

Gostou: The location was pleasent , small village with a pub and lovely walks nearby. 15 min to spurn point which was nice , 30 from Hull. Showers were not timed and hot.

Não gostou: We arrived and despite the pitch plan your emailed we arrived to someone in our pitch. We attempted to call the owner a few times to ask which pitch to use and make sure they were empty but had no luck. We ended up using a hardstanding pitch that seemed empty once a camper had moved their van. The pitches are boggy but it can't be helped with the weather. The toilet block is fairly simple and not ideal having one toilet for each sex for around 30 people camping so they wernt the cleanest.

Do gerente: We are a little confused about this review overall. On the night of your 1 night stay we had a missed call at around 8:20pm we tried to call the number back - however as no voicemail / text was left and the number was not linked to a booking or check-in we had no way of knowing that this was a guest that was on site. Our voicemail message clearly states to leave a message or to send an email, especially for guest who are on site and require our assistance. There was no other calls or contact that evening. As we have a young family and it was late on a Sunday night - we presumed that it was someone looking to make a booking or a general inquiry. We have reviewed our CCTV and can see that a large grass pitch was left empty on the evening of your booking. As this was a bank holiday we had a full site, all of our hard standings where occupied by other guests. Had we been made aware of any issues we would have resolved them immediately. We cannot assist 2 days later via a review. We regularly check the facilities block - considering that we where fully occupied for the bank holiday the toilets and showers had been left clean and tidy by our guests, other than some grass walked in, which cannot be helped. We pride ourselves on the cleanliness of our facilities which can be shown in other reviews made by guests. On our site inspections each morning the ground was dry and perfect conditions for camping.

Gostou: Loved everything about this campsite. It was practical and well set out (large pitches and clear instructions), with a friendly host who we happened to see. It was lovely and quiet as it’s down a track, but Tesco was also only 5 minutes away which was handy. We hope to become regular campers here! ❤️

Gostou: Lovely clean and friendly site. Showers and toilets very clean. Freshly laid eggs for £1 :-) Campfires allowed and plenty of room for the kids to play.

Gostou: Peace, services, amenities etc. Good value for money

Não gostou: Couldn't find anything to dislike really........perhaps a free bar would be good!!!

Gostou: As far as sites go this had everything that we needed. Pitches were fine. Water and ehu. We got phone signal so that helped too. Facilities clean and tidy. Would visit again.

Não gostou: Not a lot really, need to use the car as it's a 50 min walk into Withernsea but other than that it's a base that's clean and tidy.

Do gerente: Thanks for your comments. However, this is the 1st time anyone has mentioned the way that we take payments. The reason that we do this is that we have found in the past that guest will book way in advance and the not turn up or cancel last minute. This leaves us with empty pitches and no time to fill them. For small sites like us this has a big impact and therefore this is the best way to reduce the risk. Please remember that you also visited on a bank holiday, during school time and most sites will require payment well in advance for this. It is disappointing when guests state that they "will not visit again or recommend us", yet we understand that the site is not for everyone. There are many of our guests that keep returning and appreciate what we offer, our low prices and the simplicity of the site. We wish you well in your future camping trips. GARTH FARM
