Camping El Cairo Nimaima Reserva Natural

There are lots of sedate ways to make the most of the waterfalls and rivers that cross this part of Colombia, starting with visits to the scenic waterfalls Saltos de los Micos and Cascadas de Chupal, both around an hour's drive from base. There’s plenty else to fuel outdoor days too: a trip to la Laguna el Tabacal (an hour away) is a must to see the pretty lagoon and its floating island, and Jericó Ecological Park is an essential stop for fishing, hiking and horseback riding tours. Fancy something different? The spectacularly photogenic Desert Sabrinsky is worth a visit just outside Bogotá, a little under two hours away.
