Liked: Lovely maintained small site, felt very relaxed there and wish we could stay longer. The Lions roaring in the morning/evening, the parachutists and planes from nearby headcorn aerodrome and the trains meant that there was lots for the kids to spot/look out for. Oh, and not forgetting Tory the horse!
Disliked: No shop on site.

Liked: Great for a young family to have a free camping experience. The pitches are roomy, but the site isn't big. So children can play freely. The showers and toilets were a good standard. The owners were easily available but not intrusive - friendly and helpful. We didn't know the big cat sanctuary is next door, and it was a surprise to hear a roar! When everyone was packing up on Sunday, the owner kept the children entertained with a trailer ride. Oh and they do pizzas on Fridays - need to pre-request.
Disliked: We didn't dislike anything, but I can't post a 5 star review without mentioning the periodic rail and road noise. Children have to make their own entertainment, which I think is good - but others may have different expectations.

Liked: Lovely campsite, the owners are extremely friendly and helpful. Present without being overbearing and it builds a lovely atmosphere on the site. We had plenty of space for our pitch and for the kids to run around. Hearing the lions roar and snore was amazing too, you really are just the other side of a railway to them and the kids loved it.

Yurt
Liked: This campsite is amazing, from the moment you arrive you are made to feel so welcome and well catered for, there isn't anything you need that isn't there already! The Yurt is huge and so lovely, exceeding all of our expectations, thexsutr is beautiful and feels safe and well looked after, the roaring cats in the back ground added that little extra magic along with Tony the pony, there really is only positive things to say, the showers abd loos are spotless, the communal area has everything you'd ever need and more, and there are plenty of nice places to nip off to see to keep kids entertained, we can't wait to come back!
Disliked: Nothing, everything was 10/10

Disliked: NOT FAMILY FRIENDLY!!! Waste of time and money. Really loud because of train station on the camp site and main road also surrounding the campsite. We came with two families, with 2 toddlers and 2, 10-year-old boys. Extremely rude workers came up and at 8:30 they told the kids to stop playing football and at 9 they did check ups on all families and came to tell our toddlers to stop speaking because it was 9, they come and check up on everyone twice at 9 shushing people! They have posters hanging everywhere saying children must be quiet from 9 even when its light outside and no theres no music is allowed, even though the radio was playing not loud, they made checks and told us to turn it off. They do not want cars to be on the grass, really do not recommend especially with families because it’s almost impossible to make two toddlers stop talking. The showers are also cold.

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to write some feedback. We have a noise policy (not uncommon in many campsites) which we do adhere to. We do walk around the site in the evening but this is to make sure that everyone is ok and to check they have the gate code to get back in if they leave the site and not to just 'shush' people. We do politely ask that parents/guardians quieten their children down after 9.pm, which is not unreasonable particularly if other campers have mentioned the noise. We try to minimise the number of cars on the site to not only make it safer for children but also, this year has been particularly wet and the ground is still very soft, which creates ruts in the ground and vehicles becoming stuck. The showers are on a set temperature to avoid potential scolding, if you felt they were cold, this could have been investigated had you let us know.

Liked: Friendly and accomodating host. Good facilities. Unusual to hear lions roaring (big cat sanctuary next door!) while camping in the UK. If you're an aviation enthusiast, there's plenty to see in the sky from Headcorn Aerodrome - Spitfire, Harvard, wingwalking Stearman, skydivers and much more.
