Liked: Not much
Disliked: Facilities were dirty and run down. The pitch were on was a hard standing and was in awful condition. Caravans were clearly stored and it was more like a caravan dumping yard.

Disliked: I feel really mad at the treatment I had from thorness this holiday as they cancelled my holiday 2 days before we were due to go. as yet I have not had my money back . to add insult to injury I was getting numerous text asking if I was enjoying my holiday.....I have an autistic teenager who can not cope with change , she knows this site so she was coping with going but when we had to make other arangement she had a complete melt down I manaaged to book 2 days at one site and five days at another unfortunatly the stress was too much and we never got to the first site losing that money and only managed 3 nights at lower hyde holiday park. thankfully wightlink was good changing our ferry crossing.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch
Liked: Location to beach and area, site facilities
Disliked: Lack of clarity on where to empty motorhome water, felt motorhomes a bit squeezed out of the site for caravans but maybe the time of year

Liked: Heated floor in shower block.
Disliked: Our stay was very disappointing. We arrived on the first day of the season. It appeared that most of the staff had also arrived that weekend. It was evident that no winter maintenance had been carried out during the off season. There were workman drafted in to repair the paths and the fences around the site during the week that we were there. Overall impression: Rude attitude of staff on arrival. Site in a state of disrepair. Staff who didn’t know what they were doing. Ladies toilets had several cubicles that didn’t lock or were missing locks. Including the family bathroom cubicle which would have been more useful for me with our children. Soap dispensers were broken or empty. Limited evidence of toilet block receiving a twice daily ‘deep clean’. No equipment available for customers to mop up after themselves. Lots of ants in the showers. Lights in the toilet block are motion sensor activated which is fine unless you are halfway through a shower and they go off leaving you in the dark! Waving from inside the cubicle didn’t switch them back on. I had to open the cubicle door! Path to the toilet block had been washed away and was dangerous. Our son slipped and badly gashed his knee open. Hardstanding hadn’t been checked. Old pegs and other rubbish evident as we pitched. It was also misnumbered so was not immediately evident which pitch was ours. The site was unfortunately very wet. Vehicles and caravans were being towed out by tractor. However this was done by inexperienced staff resulting in significant damage being done to a neighbouring caravan. The pool was supposed to be bookable through the website “just follow the QR code”. However this was unsuccessful. When we enquired it turned out that the booking website hadn’t been updated since Covid and so nothing was bookable. On the one occasion we did use the pool the water was unacceptably cold for small children because “there was a problem with the boiler”. The pool itself is not well signposted and is accessed through the restaurant. People were eating in there while workman were noisily fitting extra flat screen TVs and doing other general maintenance. The site did what we needed in as much as it offered a base from where we could explore the Island. However it is tired and dated and in need of better management. I was relieved that our outlay to stay there didn’t break the bank. We won’t be returning.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch
Liked: Hard standing on the super pitch we had (needed blocks to level the caravan). Being able to walk to the bay and play activities with the children and explore without getting in the car. Having laundry, food options and a well stocked shop on site plus a swimming pool and entertainment for the children.
Disliked: Nothing we can think of!
