Liked: Walking distance to Swanage
Disliked: On arrival was given a map of pitch no other information at all Arrived to a scruffy pitch full of weeds ! Had people speeding past on a gravel track making it unpleasant to sit out , we saw no one from the site all the time we were there very dangerous Drive through residential site was really scruffy and no information given to when anything open Walked into ladies and floor gave way only Lino saved me ! Handle to shower fell off ! There is NO WiFi even thought site write up says It’s not an award wining site !! I could go on and on book at your own peril

Liked: Was easy to book in and find out pitch. Farm is extensive so in midst of many fields and surrounding hills. Liked the refreshment van being close to us and open at good times. Was not expensive which is a bonus. The bar has great character and again the prices of drinks is set at a reasonable price. Friendly staff, the carvery on Sunday was really good all cooked to perfection it is £15.99 each we loved it! Loved the 20 minute walk across the 2 fields and long road to the beach, the location of Herston is great.
Disliked: The facilities could be cleaner and updated, need more shower blocks, an onsite laundry would be handy here too. The site does look a little run down, the gravel pitches need more gravel and a tidy up. I understand this has been difficult because of terrible rain. The 2 main rubbish bins were overflowing by Sunday night so maybe need more for the summer holidays. Never had WiFi whilst here has it was not safe and didn't work for us anyway..

Liked: The location and proximity to swanage and studland There were facilities for waste emptying and electric hook ups and water . The pitch we were on was well kept and tidy
Disliked: The ladies toilet block and Mens shower along with hot water nearest the site office were out of action apparently the boiler is broken and so was the Laundry room although there was hot water to wash plates in here . This meant a long walk for my wife at night through scruffy residents area We were left to find our own pitch with some pointing from the reception, which was also very run down and no follow up from staff after we had set up . The site was very heavily residential and a lot of these areas were very run down with poor curb appeal . The speed of vehicles on the site is excessive signs say 5 mph but the numerous residents ignore this and speed of 20mph plus constantly on the front of the pitch we were on we felt like we were road side not on a camp site . The working showers in the block in the middle of the park don’t drain properly this means you have to stand in some else’s waste water not pleasant . But toilets were clean . There are no pathways only estate roads so walking on the road for children is risky with traffic speed

Liked: Nothing
Disliked: False advertising i.e No entertainment, or no Park open for the kids to play in as the one they had was falling apart flooded and fenced off. Also there are only two roads into the site, my satnav bought me down one that nearly rote my caravan off i was lucky to escape with just a puncture. We stayed two days out of the seven we were meant to stay for and that was only because we needed the puncture repaired. Will not be returning.

Liked: The rural location with footpath to the steam railway.
Disliked: This site is so tired and in much need of a facelift - investment in new facilities would be a good first start. The shower block is exceptionally small given the total number of pitches. Given the rate we paid, one would expect the Wi-Fi to be included (as many other sites at lower rates do). One would expect the take away and bar facility to be open given the booking was in the Easter holidays. The grass around the motorhome hard standing should be cut and the shingles weeded. There was no motorhome service point. The number of apparently permanent residents is not at all clear from the booking website information.
