Liked: Great location with easy access to Ambleside/Grasmere and Windermere, as well as Keswick. Easy access, good, clean and well maintained toilets and shower. Quiet campsite that doesn’t try to over book or over complicate camping. Just pitch up, enjoy the beautiful scenery and leave no trace behind!

Liked: Hospitality and relaxed nature of the owners. Location. Facilities were very clean and satisfactory. Farm animals. Views. Space between pitches. Cafe down the road for basic food (sandwiches, panini etc) and with licensed bar for a well deserved beer after a good hike around the local fells. Also has WiFi, although we had perfect 4G signal at the site. Pub down the road serves typical pub food which is OK, some good drink options and makes for a nice stop. Thirlmere Lake is very nearby and bus is currently (June 2024) only £2 which can get you to Ambleside (very busy) or Keswick.
Disliked: Nothing

Liked: Beautiful views. Short walk to the Kings Head. Staying on a working farm where you can buy eggs, milk and bread for breakfast. We’re made to feel very welcome.
Disliked: One of the toilets could do with a better lock!
