Set midway between the eastern edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds and the sandy beaches of Sutton-on-Sea, The Old Barn Retreat is a peaceful adults-only park for touring caravans located just outside the traditional village of Markby. The site has a number of handy amenities, including a central decking area with picnic tables, a large facilities block with clean toilets and showers and a chemical waste disposal point. At other times, it's easy to take yourself down to the pub at Alford (10 minutes' drive) or Sutton-on-Sea (five minutes), where there are also food shops, takeaways and a range of restaurants.

Liked: Beautiful well manicured site, immaculately clean toilet and shower facilities very peaceful. We were next to a honeysuckle tree that made the whole area smell amazing. Excellent location for many local resorts and amenities. Fish and chip van on Wednesday a great added extra. Will definitely be back.

Liked: Very pretty and clean site. Nice sized pitch. Excellent facilities.

Disliked: Just to make other dog owners aware - No dog walks from site as on a busy road with no path. Owners do provide a small area to let dogs off lead if necessary.

Liked: Absolutely loved everything about our stay. Everything was so immaculate. Cleanliness was off the scale. A beautiful place, so peaceful. And relatively small amount of pitches meant such a friendly site. A very warm welcome, lovely space for dog walk, the dogs felt very welcome too 😊 And the visit from the ice cream van was the cherry on top. I can't recommend this place enough, can't wait to visit again.

Liked: Loved this site, large pitches very peaceful no kids screaming as adults only and very clean toilets, free WiFi and on a Wednesday evening a fish and chip van comes on site, very friendly staff and owners. The location was ideal for us as short drive to mablethorpe, Sutton on sea and huttoft beach.

Liked: A lovely friendly welcome on arrival. Asked if we wanted a sunnier pitch to watch the sun go down, which we excepted. Clean toilets 2 for the ladies (seperate male facilities shower and toilets) and a lovely big hot shower room which cost a £1 which had everything you needed a stool, hanging place for your towel and enough storage by the shower for you toiletries. Lovely big pitch with well kept with raised flower beds. Close to Mablethorpe. Dog friendly too. Thanks for a wonderful stay we will be back and hopefully we will bring the sun back with us too.

Liked: Immaculately kept, spacious pitches. Helpful warden. Everything very clean, tidy and quiet. Showers are a pound but a generous 7mins and nice and hot with decent water pressure.

Disliked: Not really a dislike,as we knew in advance, but there's nothing nearby in walking distance. However, if you have bikes it's an easy cycle a couple of miles into Sutton on Sea where the beach is lovely and there are shops, pubs etc.
