Liked: Easy to access field with a magnificent view over Exmoor. Clean proper flushing toilets and super hot showers. A kitchen area with washing up, fridge, freezer, kettle and four plug sockets available. This is an ideal base for visiting Exmoor National Park and the North Devon coast. There’s also plenty of walks from site (including a reservoir nearby with easy walking) and a farm shop up the road selling everything you need for a BBQ. Super quiet place to unwind and dog friendly. Everything is organised and you’re left to enjoy your holiday.

Liked: Stayed for 2 nights in my Bongo van with my sister to do some local Geocaching. This site was quiet and clean and perfect for a basic no thrills camp. The toilet and shower stable were clean and the water was hot. The washing up room had everything needed and a toaster (bonus). We were not lucky with the weather but we were lucky with finding this site. Thank you.

Liked: We came to this site for the Stargazing as it’s in a designated dark skies area. The stargazing was fab! and this lovely little site delivered much more! It was quiet, conveniently located for Combe Martin ( Black and White Chippy- simply the best fish and chips ever!) and most of the North coastline and within half a mile of a wonderful farm shop too. Facilities are rustic but functional. The toilets were clean and the paper replaced often. Showers are decent power showers, so always hot water and the Farmer leaves the lights on so there’s no need to fumble around in the dark. The kitchen has sinks , a fridge, freezer, kettle, microwave and toaster. There are sockets to charge your phones, power packs etc and waste and recycling and bins. The site is pretty level by Devon standards and the ground good. The farmer mowed a large strip to pitch on before our arrival but you can pitch wherever you like. We had a couple of storms on our stay, the farmer kindly came by and made sure we were ok. We needed extra pegs which we found about 20 min drive away in a super camping shop in a garden centre in Ashford, Barnstaple. Barnstaple is the nearest big town with Tescos, Home Bargains, Lidl, B&Q and shops. Traffic can be heavy at rush hour so avoid that if possible. Other places we visited included Dartington Chrystal, several beaches, RHS Rosemore, Arlington Hall, steam train, Cliff railway, Lynton and Lynmouth. There’s still plenty to see. All in all we loved this calm little site, completely quiet, well, except the cockerels and cows which were lovely to listen to a peaceful base to explore from.

Liked: We liked that there were no specific pitch sizes and we could choose where we pitched. The grandchildren had plenty of room to play and run around. Jake, the owner was extremely helpful and went out of his way to see that everything was ok.
Disliked: Hot water for washing up was not great, sometimes couldn’t get it to get hot.
