Settle down here for spectacularly scenic stays: Camping y Caravaning Playa De Oyambre is among the lush landscapes of the the Oyambre Natural Park, between the the handsome fishing villages of Comillas and San Vicente de la Barquera, five minutes' drive away. This is a peaceful place with a laidback vibe, plenty of flowers, and splendid views towards the Picos de Europa mountain range. Use this as a base to explore western Cantabria, or as a place to totter back to after horse riding or hiking in the surroundings, or after clambering around the Picos de Europa an hour's drive away. Facilities include a pool, a playground, a café and restaurant. The nearest beach is within 15 minutes' stroll.

Local attractions

Camping y Caravaning Playa De Oyambre is in an excellent setting for exploring western Cantabria and its coastline: stay close to home for hiking and biking around the dunes and beaches of the natural park, or venture further afield for mountain climbing around the Picos de Europa. Local town San Vicente de la Barquera is also a top spot: bring your camera to take pics of this traditional fishing village and its beach, with the snow-capped Picos de Europa range in the background. There are plenty of places to linger in town too, so potter over the Maza bridge in search of local cuisine like Barquera hotpot, a stew of tuna and potatoes. Guests have also easy access to Potes, an hour's drive to the south and home to the fab 15th-century Torre del Infantado, and Covadonga (an hour and 10 minutes), set below the mountains and the lakes of Covadonga, Enol and Ercina.
