  • Spacious pitches on the Dorset coast, overlooking Chesil Beach
  • A 10-minute drive to central Weymouth; 15 mins to Isle of Portland
  • On-site bar for drinks and food; play area and playing field
You’ll be able to squeeze the maximum amount of sea air out of your Dorset coastal break when you stay at East Fleet Farm Touring Park – this spectacular location is on the shores of the Fleet Lagoon, with views over Chesil Beach to the open sea beyond. Having sea views from the site means that you may be tempted to hang around on your pitch, put your feet up and simply take in the scenery for much of your break. And that’s not a bad idea at all – pitches are generously sized, with access to a play area and playing field for kids that may need a bit more activity. The well-stocked shop has various camping/caravan accessories and consumables, and it’s also the place to pick up a newspaper and an ice cream to take back to your camping chair. For more substantial eats, head to the on-site bar, which has an extensive food menu as well as a range of local drinks. It really is worth making the effort to get out and about locally though: there are some stunning walks on the South West Coast Path (which passes next to the site) and plenty of places to go for a bike ride. Weymouth and Dorchester are easily accessed too, as are the watersports of Portland and attractions such as Abbotsbury Swannery.

Liked: Size of the pitches was great- accommodating large tent, gazeebo and a car. Easy check in, facilities on site- shop, pub. Hot water at all times, plenty of shower cubicles as two large blocks on site. Friendly and helpful staff.

Disliked: Facilities little grub during the peak time. Toilets central to the large site, might be an issue at night if relying solely on those as a bit of a walk. Some pitches sloping- ours was. Couldn't connect to the wifi- didn't bother us but some guests might rely on it.

Liked: - contacted pitch up after booking to ask if myself and our friends could be pitched next to each other, communication was responded to in a timely manor. - Was greeted by a lovely man on site who explained the sites facilities and where everything was. - my family and I were pitched next to our friends which was perfect. - The site was clean and the shower facilities were spotless - Didn't feel like we were crammed in and we had a great sized pitch - Beautiful scenary - The on site shop and camp shop was well stocked and loved that we could order freshly baked bread. - Another gentleman who worked on site shared with me some knowledge of the local area. He told me that the developer of the bouncing bomb tested his bomb on the fleet and watched it from the hill (This type of information would be great to have on a board before going down to the beach) - The children's play park was a great size with wooden play/climbing equipment - The staff were always smiling and happy to help. - drinks in the bar were reasonably priced as was the food. - was able to access WiFi and connect to the internet anywhere on site.

Disliked: Not applicable. Had a fabulous 3 day break and will be looking to return in 2025 for a week.

Liked: The site is lovely overall. Such a warm welcome from staff upon arrival, everything was explained to us. We were directed to our pitch. Pitch sizes are a very good size. The site shop has everything you need. The bar sells food which was delicious and at a reasonable price to. The kids loved the park. Showers and toilets are the best I have seen and we go to many camp sites. The surrounding scenery was lovely. Overall 10 out of 10 we are looking to book again.

Fully-serviced gravel caravan site

Liked: Welcome by staff member excellent. Site very well kept. Shower blocks excellent. Everything you could possibly need in the shop. Bar and restaurant on site. Views beautiful, lovely walks, Bus from top of lane to Bridport or Weymouth.

Disliked: Pitch Felt a bit like being in a goldfish bowl with everyone walking past us to all of the facilities. People who let their dogs foul and don't pick up. We gave two people dog bags when dogs had fouled on main path to toilet. Not amused.

Liked: Wi-Fi a crossed the whole campsite. Peaceful and quiet. Loved that the lagoon was easy to access. 20 minute walk away from Aldi, Burger King and Greg’s and bus stop. Shower block was the best I have come acrossed, liked that the toilet, sink and shower all in one cubicle.

Disliked: No where safe to charge up mobile phones or batteries bank, if you are not on electric hookup. camp site that have charge station with lockable boxes, this campsite hasn’t. Food in restaurant was expensive.

Local attractions

Can’t keep your eyes off the sea views? Pick up the South West Coast Path at the bottom end of the park, or head for favourite spots along the Jurassic Coast like West Bay (half an hour’s drive) and Lulworth Cove (35 minutes). The Isle of Portland (15 minutes) is also a great place for a walk, and it’s also got lots of watersports including windsurfing, coasteering and scuba diving. Weymouth (10 minutes) is another perennial favourite for its lovely sandy beach and attractions like the Sea Life Centre and Pirate Adventure Golf. You can also get to the town on two wheels by picking up the Weymouth Trail cycle route from the bridleway by the site (or follow the full nine-mile trail up into the hills…) Other options for days out nearby include Abbotsbury Swannery and Subtropical Gardens (15 minutes), Vurlands Animal Farm (20 minutes) or an arty afternoon at Sculpture By The Lakes (half an hour).
