Liked: Loved this place! Stumbled across it on pitch up and I'm so glad we did! Tracy and Gary are both very welcoming, they've created a fantastic quirky place for both the guests and the animals. We stayed in the paddock with our camper, what an experience being so close to donkeys, a horse, ducks, sheep, goats and chickens! Not to mention their beautiful dog too! We got to help feed the animals in the morning which was such an amazing experience, feeding chickens, the rabbits, donkeys, sheep, goats, and I also helped collect the eggs, one from right under one of the chickens, felt so privileged to have had this experience! You can tell Tracy and Gary take immense pride in their place, and have so much love for their animals. We will most definitely be back if we're down this way again! Highly recommend! Thank you for an unforgettable experience! P.s there's an amazing Cantonese just down the road in the beautiful village.

Liked: We absolutely loved this site! The owners couldn’t be more helpful and the animal feeding on the morning was such a great experience. The kids had a brilliant time playing out in the paddock with the other children staying and we loved all the quirky things like the sun/moon gazing chair. We will definitely be back, especially to see our new friends Panda and Pablo.
Disliked: Nothing!

Paddock power optional grass campervan site
Liked: Nothing
Disliked: This is not a camp site This is some ones back garden. We was not informed you need a 3 pin plug for ehu. You can only get water from inside there house. No where to wash dishes and you must take you rubbish home. To me £30 a night to stay in a garden with no amenities is a bit expensive. This site Is NOT child friendly. We was told off numerous times for kids well been kids. We was also not allowed see the animals unless the gate was open which was at 10am for about 30 mins while they fed the animals and collect eggs. We booked for 2 night but us and another family who was also booked for 2 night left after the first night.

From the manager: Hi Lee, thank you for your comments, and sorry you left early. As you know we only accept self contained units, but yes, we are happy for our guests to use the utility room in our home to top up on water and use our facilities to wash their pots. There is a note on the bins which says ‘only sorted recyclable rubbish to be left’ sorry you missed this. Yes this is our back garden (two acres) which we happily share with like minded camping and animal lovers. We always have spare three pin plugs if guests haven’t brought their own. A reminder, All animals are viewable from the paddocks/lawns, (donkeys, goats, sheep, chickens, ducks, tortoises, horse, cats, dogs, except bunnies and piggies.) Of course the Animal Sanctuary gates must not be entered without the owners, (we have potentially new and nervous rescued animals and need to ensure their safety and calm surroundings) Our feeding times are pre explained. Children love these free of charge animal petting experiences. The largest demographic of our visitors tend to be parents or grandparents with their children, most of whom return frequently. They seem to enjoy the large amount of space around their units (no one is crammed in with four metre distancing) and lots of paddock space for children to play and see all the rescued animals. We appreciate your comments and accept that we were not for you, but wish you all the best in your next holiday, and thank you for trying us out Tracy and Gary.
A wonderful experience for all animal lovers!

Power optional concrete slab motorhome site
Liked: What a wonderful welcome we received from host’sTracy and Gary. Nothing was too much, we had a tour of the site when we arrived. Then the very next morning our seven year old son Euan got to feed all the wonderful animals. He was in his element, helping Tracy and learning about the animals! To stay in this site it’s all about the animals! So you need to be self sufficient in terms of toilets/sanitation etc. however my husband loved the Elsan disposal point! So clean and easy to use! Great that we had EHU as well! We will definitely be back! Thank you so much for all your hard work and time looking after the animals and educating your guests on their care! Staying at Cheeky Chicken Cottage has definitely been a highlight of our holiday! 🥰
Disliked: That we only stayed for two nights we should have stayed longer and we will definitely be back in the summer next time!
