Liked: Very friendly people on campsite, lovely location too. Facilities were very well maintained and clean.

Disliked: Pitch wasn’t level, not the end of the world but would have been handy to have a level pitch

Sorry that you weren't happy with your pitch, unfortunately as you booked a non-electric pitch (of which we only have 4) there isn't a huge choice of pitches. Also, as you arrived after the office closed on Sunday evening, we were unable to assist with any changes or offer you an alternative pitch. We always aim to accommodate any changes when guests are unhappy with their pitch.

Derw 2 bedroom safari tent (pet friendly)

Liked: We really loved the Isabella Glamping tent. It was the perfect balance of camping with creature comforts. The kids loved the adventure, and the site was perfectly placed for lots of different activities. All of the staff are absolutely lovely too!

Liked: What a gem of a campsite, great pitches and easy walking distance to the beautiful Lake Bala. From arriving at Reception the staff are very friendly, the shower block is amazing and the separate basins etc are a great touch (if you are weird like me and can’t watch people brushing their teeth!) overall we loved it and will be back again

Disliked: I think the campsite has a chilled relaxed vibe but is lacking either a restaurant/cafe or even a pizza van or small bar onsite- it’s not a huge necessity but would be nice to stay onsite rather than walking to town for a cold pint

Occasionally we have a pizza van on site ( all dates and details are on the website, Instagram ) and we also have a small trailer selling tea/ coffee/ cakes etc on certain dates again you would have to check. We decided very early on that a bar on site would be a bad idea as on occasions we have some customers who don't know when to stop!!! We look forward to seeing you here again in the near future. Local attractions

For those days where you can’t be bothered to walk too far, it’s very handy that the station for the narrow-gauge Bala Lake Railway is just five minutes’ walk away. Views of the water are a given, but count the mountains too: Arenig Fawr, Aran Fawddwy and Aran Benllyn are visible on the route. You may have your sights set on climbing Wales’ tallest mountain, perhaps. If you’re not climbing up Snowdon (an hour's drive) yourself, you might want to take the Snowdon Mountain Railway (an hour and five minutes), which has been making its ascent for over 100 years. A less strenuous trail than the Snowdon climb is the Mawddach Trail, which runs for just under 10 miles from Dolgellau (half an hour), crossing over the gorgeous Barmouth railway bridge on the other end. Coed y Brenin Forest Park (35 minutes) has plenty of trails too, through thick forest this time. You can take them on by mountain bike, standard bicycle or on foot – and there’s bike hire at the forest park.

Booking terms and conditions

Admission

Admission is only permitted after registering at reception.
At least one of the party members must be aged 21 or over.
Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

Arrivals and departures

Late arrivals must notify the park as soon as possible. Your booking will be held for 24 hours. After this period the management reserves the right to relet your unit.
No refunds/discounts for inclement weather, late arrivals or early departures.

Dogs

Dogs must be kept on leads and supervised at all times.

Extras

Motorbike(s) can be brought instead of the car(s) included.

General

In the event of a complaint, please speak to reception immediately. Complaints which are not brought to the management's attention during your stay cannot be dealt with once you have left the site.
Quiet hours must be respected between 10:30 p.m. and 7 a.m..
The management reserves the right to deny access or terminate the stay of those guests whose behaviour is deemed unsuitable. No refunds will be offered.

Occupancy

Group bookings of 2 or more units (e.g. tent, touring caravan, motorhome or accommodation hire) travelling together are not permitted via Pitchup.com.

Reception

Reception is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. between 01/03 and 30/11.
Reception is unmanned after 5 p.m.. Please inform the site while on your way there should you expect to arrive after this time, so that the team can provide information about your unit/pitch.

Safety

Barbecues are permitted but must be raised off the ground and attended by an adult at all times.
Firearms are not permitted.

Vehicles

Only one car is to be parked by the pitch. Extra vehicles must be parked in the designated area.

Visitors

Visitors must register at reception and pay their fee.
