  • Small campsite with spectacular views over Cardigan Bay in Ceredigion
  • Welsh Wildlife Centre and National Wool Museum 25 minutes’ drive
  • Back-to-basics, off-grid pitches; pubs and beaches 20 minutes’ walk
Very true to its name, Aberporth Sea View Camping does indeed have captivating views over the sea – the Irish Sea in fact – from its setting in a hilltop camping meadow. Tucked in between the seaside villages of Aberporth and Tresaith (both five minutes’ drive) overlooking Cardigan Bay, the sea views are quite simply spectacular from all vantage points across the site. Frills may be few at this tiny Ceredigion campsite (there are only a handful of pitches, and they are all off-grid), but frankly who cares when two beaches are within 20 minutes’ walk, and there are farm parks within half an hour’s drive to keep the kids happy? It’s also a handy overnighting spot for long-distance walkers ‘doing’ scenic coastline rambles along the Ceredigion Coast Path, which runs just below the camping field. For safety reasons campfires are not allowed at the pitches here, but barbecues are welcome. You can pick up barbecue bits and bobs in the convenience store in Aberporth, or dodge cooking altogether and find your favourite among the village’s pubs and takeaways.
