  • Well-maintained, peaceful Yorkshire park 10 minutes’ drive from Whitby
  • Robin Hood’s Bay five minutes’ drive and Scarborough half an hour
  • Restaurant and bar on site, plus a play area and dedicated dog park
Set in 10 acres of stunning North Yorkshire moors countryside, York House Caravan Park is just 10 minutes’ drive from Whitby – you can actually see the Gothic abbey from the touring pitches – and has a variety of accommodation options designed to suit all budgets and styles of camping. This spacious site in the small village of Hawsker appeals to both couples and families – and it must be doing something right, as guests come back year after year. There are two play areas for kids, and also plenty of opportunities for gentle strolls and relaxing in peaceful surroundings – it’s a canine-friendly place too, with a dedicated dog-walking field. On-site facilities include a well-maintained shower block, a washing-up and laundry room – and – saving the best for last – a bar and restaurant for those days when you just don’t feel like catering for yourselves. There’s also a local pub five minutes’ walk away, which serves delicious home-cooked food and a good selection of drinks. From the site, it’s easy to access the Cinder Track, a 21-mile path along the disused railway from Whitby to Scarborough. Leaving the car behind on your adventures? There is a good bus service from Hawsker to Scarborough in one direction and Middlesborough the other.

Electric optional gravel and hardstanding touring pitch

Liked: Nice location close to Whitby

Disliked: Pitches are to small and are crammed in,and although the toilets were very clean you have to be a contortionist due to the toilet paper was difficult to reach, and to finish I would prefer not to be on a electric meter it worked out aprox £2 a night

Electric optional gravel and hardstanding touring pitch

Liked: Wonderfully friendly staff and facilities excellent. Huge dog field for exercising dog….pitches spacious. Bar and cafe on site didn’t get chance to go as not open during the week due to refurb so it was closed but can imagine it would be good. Also does take away breakfasts…will definitely be returning to try. Also had onsite shop and pub over the road with buses every half hour to Whitby or Scarborough. Excellent cycle paths about a mile from the site. Local pubs hare and hounds also one The windmill inn for the best Sunday lunch. Highly recommended. Oh and lots of play parks for children

Disliked: Nothing everything perfect
