Liked: Hello Nigel, Thanks for a lovely place to stay. We enjoyed the 5 days at your place. The weather was a bonus and we found the site perfect for us. Easy walk into Hunstanton and Snettisham was a good walk through the wetlands plenty of birds to see. We will stay again when in that neck of the woods. Your staff were really helpful and good team. I'd give you a good 4. Linda and John
Disliked: The rain on one day.

Electric optional grass motorhome pitch
Liked: Location very near to beach / Nigel welcome / electric showers without timer. Had wifi
Disliked: I am not a person who moans about little things , but in this instance and because we were very disappointed with the campsite, we expected much better standards especially considering the expensive cost of the pitch and additional cost of the electricity. just a grass track to the pitched not a proper road or gravel path. all the pitches are grass only, which would be an issue with the amount of rain. no hard path to the showers, grass path then gravel no proper paths . The Showers ( 2 only !) have two hooks on the back of the door which was full of cobwebs at the top of the shower entrance door which was open to the elements via a large 3" gap at the bottom of the door. The shower curtain allowed water to cascade out over the shower tray straight down the floor to the outside , which could be a real slip hazard for any young children or anybody with balance issue. There was no place to put any toiletries within the shower cubicle or out the shower cubicle , had to balance stuff precariously on top of the shower unit. The timer unit for the light in the shower cubicle kept switching off after a very short interval and had to be constantly reset. The toilets were the same very poor condition as the showers , i even timed the light switch reset and it switched off after 9 seconds I mean seriously 9 seconds, young children beware !. Also the shower toilets and washing area is exposed to the elements no roof or protection from the weather at all. My wife and I feet were covered in grass and dirt due to the condition of the shower access path after our showers. The electric hook points are disguised by wooden planter arrangements which is to protect them from the weather. I am not sure if this is due to EHU on our pitch not having a clear plastic flap to protect the MCB's which is not safe BTW, but also the wooden planters are ridiculously heavy to lift over to access the EHU point. The EHU also was not screwed together and had a broken cable tie supposedly holding the front on. Also why is the site called Hunstanton camping and glamping , when it is in Heacham this is slightly misleading as Hunstanton is a very long walk to reach from the site. Also guest control seemed non exisitent as , two campervans a car and two tents were all on two ? pitches , also these guests were noisy both nights and were talking well into the night (1-2 am ), with no apparent interaction from Nigel after the first (Fri ) evening All in all a very disappointing experience , when we hoping for much better.

From the manager: thank you, for giving me your views, and I am glad to hear you're not the sort of person to moan! You attended on a bank holiday, Our booking hub reminded you that we will be busy as its a Bank Holiday. It was lovely weather on Saturday and Sunday I believe you were my only guest who failed to enjoy the sunshine and the relaxed atmosphere and your fellow guests. We do not offer concrete paths."real" paths, we promote ourselves as a back-to-basics campsite it sounds like you were looking for more of a carpark to park your motorhome in . we have 4 showers, not two I'm sorry you didn't find the other 2 cubicles the showers are instantly hot 24 hours a day. sorry the light kept turning off, however, there is a window in the shower cubical and we assume you know your own body to wash! and could cope without having to see your body also. The element you were exposed to in the sunshine was hot weather !! I did realise we have a "shower access path" !! I'm left scratching my head on that one !! why are we called "Hunstanton camping and glamping" that is the same reason as "Kentucky fried chicking" isn't in Kentucky" Campers come in all shapes and sizes, yes at times I allow cars to park alongside their tents the small group of youngsters 25/30 years old were allocated space close to my property so I could ensure they were not to noise, I determined they were not I'm sorry you believed they were. I recommend in future you book a hotel and use their car park for your camping experience . I Wish you well , regards Nigel

Electric optional grass campervan pitch (no awning)
Liked: Location five mins from the beach brilliant. Wonderful views across the fields with hares frolicking and a wide selection of birds. Moderately well kept grass pitches with water and electric. Friendly welcome from the lady of the house who gave us two fresh eggs.
Disliked: The toilet shower block was abominable, gravel approach filled with sharp edged pieces of broken tiles. Two showers with quite modern domestic units, touched one shower head rail and it came away from the wall and l was told not to pull it. All doors outside were not fully enclosed and had a drafty nine inch gap at the bottom. The shower trays are woefully shallow and therefore not adequate. The washing up sinks were covered in paint residue from recent panicked work, the splash backs consisted of corrugated tin nicely coloured with rust. Moving inside to the toilet block there were two sinks with hot water only. The only place to clean your teeth was outside under the elements no shelter no privacy. Inside toilets were adequate. A lot of money for what’s on offer.

We are sorry that you did not find our back to basic facilities to your liking, we have a purpose built shower and toilet block with shelves for your cosmetics, you may have used our outside showers that are for the brave in our current weather! Such a shame that you did not get to experience our better facilities and a shame that you would not visit again :(

Liked: Owner was nice, helpful.
Disliked: Toilets were terrible, mixed and absolutely disgusting like a festival! Ground uneven £10 extra for electric after paying £43 to stay it was expensive for what was essentially a plot of grass.

From the manager: Thank you Rob for taking the time to leave a review, we are so pleased that you found is to be nice and helpful. Our facilities have both "mixed" and female/male only bathrooms. You may have visited on a wet weekend, in which case the floor can get a little grubby, we do try to keep on top of this! Our campsite is flat and grassy, I am surprised you managed to find an uneven bit. So Sorry you will not be returning, we have many happy campers that come back time and time again to be by the beach :)
