Non-electric grass tent, campervan or trailer tent pitch
Liked: A real back to nature feel, well kept and sufficient spaces between pitches allowing plenty of privacy. Showers and toilets were clean and towel in toilet was replaced frequently during our one day stay.
Disliked: Lack of instruction for arrival. We arrived not knowing what to do. Called number on board but no reply. The regular church bells throughout the day and night were loud and intrusive. Aware this is not the sites responsibility but had a negative impact on our stay due to lack of sleep.

Liked: Everything was "as advertised" and a great site with no hassles and no children.
Disliked: I read some of the reviews from previous people who stayed and noted the comments about the nearby church bells..... If you want to sleep at night then I suggest you don't stay here. Church bells are loud and they chime every 15 minutes !!! I am a good/heavy sleeper with earplugs when camping and I didn't get any sleep. I appreciate this is NOT the fault of the campsite but please be aware of this local noise pollution - you have been warned. Honestly, there is no reasonable need for church bells chiming ALL NIGHT

Liked: How quiet and peaceful the campsite was. Choice of pitches to stay in. The fact that you could have a fire. Location.
Disliked: The showers were not quite so clean as I would have liked.

Liked: The host was very welcoming and showed me around on arrival, pointed out the best spot to park in order to see the sunset at its best. The shower was amazing and equal in pressure only to those of a Spanish hotel. Could have honestly stayed under it for hours
Disliked: As the site is all grass and track it was very muddy to drive in. Host had to help push the van into position as the wheels were spinning. This is a fab campsite if you truly are after peace and solitude. There is nothing witching miles except the charming local pub that doesn’t open weekdays until 5pm. Unfortunately the local church has a bell chime that goes off on every half hour and an extra chime on the hour, 24hrs a day! This does indeed break the silence and I felt like I hadn’t slept all night. The facilities are very basic but clean. Everything you need really. I left a day early but only because I couldn’t take anymore chimes.

From the manager: Thanks for your review. Unfortunately you did come on the weekend where we had torrential rain just beforehand (we closed the site to other campers but wanted to honour guests who had already booked). Due to the rainfall and wet ground we were unable to mow into October (whereas any other year we have been). Over the Winter we have kept the campsite completely closed (for the first time in 10 years) due to the unprecedented amount of rain! We have taken this time to do necessary repairs to the ground, installing new wood chip pathways and refurbishing the facilities. We hope this will give the campsite a new feel and customers coming over the Summer will enjoy using the site. I can only apologise, but hope that it's clear if you were to visit in a dry spell you would've had a completely different experience! Unfortunately there is nothing we can do in regards to the church bells, they do chime constantly, we're used to it but accept some guests find it disturbing and we do pre-warn everyone as much as possible. It's on all listings for our site online and we do offer free earplugs by the facilities for those who are light sleepers.

Liked: Everything! But, in particular, I like how quiet the site is. Indeed, it can be silent which is amazing given how many people stay! Beautiful dark skies with lots of stars. V. helpful site manager & a great location. Whichford Pottery is wonderful & the fish & chips at the Mermaid Fish Bar in Moreton in the Marsh are very good! Lots to see & do in the area so, will be coming back again & again.

Liked: Peaceful, calm site in beautiful countryside. Small ish site, with lovely surroundings which is perfect for a break away. There was a fridge, freezer, and some appliances which I didn't realise in advance which is very helpful. Nice choice of pitches in the meadow or in/near the orchard. The wooden table and chairs at my pitch were super handy.
Disliked: Facilities are basic but sufficient. More showers would be handy but may not be possible due to the simple nature of the location. What's there is of reasonable quality and the campsite wasn't too busy. The meadow water tap was blocked off a little by a wooden frame, even though probably still accessible.

Liked: The people that manage the site, are thoughtful, friendly and considerate. It made my stay feel more relaxing. They went out of their way to share information and to offer help if needs be. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. It was brilliant. A tranquil idyllic place. The Church bells didn't cause issues for me personally. Ear plugs are available for light sleepers but bring your own if your the fussy type. I definitely will be back sometime in the future.
Disliked: Nothing.
