Liked: Gorgeous views, friendly site, lots of local pubs & food in Castleton just a short walk away. Friendly staff and clean toilets.
Disliked: The only negative would be the loud groups on sight, shouting and playing music but those can’t be helped sometimes. It all seemed to quieten off after midnight which wasn’t too bad. The field is on a slope which is clearly stated on the booking so not a negative, just an FYI if you have levellers for your van - bring them!

Liked: Really enjoyed this campsite. Beautiful views with some goats, chickens and cows. Lots of sheep nearby as well as plenty of walks from the campsite. Easy driving to plenty of classic Peak District attractions such as Bamford Edge or Chatsworth house. Jess was lovely and made it feel really cozy and welcoming.

Liked: Didn’t get to meet the hosts themselves as they were out but whoever the other lady was was lovely. Really easy check in/out and great location. Only 3 stars as the whole area is on a hill and there’s no flat land to park/pitch up on. Also, paying £20 for a wonky field and portaloo’s is a bit excessive when there is free parking for campers on the road outside of the field!

From the manager: Thank you for your review, you clearly did not read the descriptions when booking as it states it is on a slope, there are portaloo's and check in is at 2pm. At the moment the council are trying to stop the parking on the road!

Liked: - Stunning scenery/location - Friendly and very helpful Jess - Clean Portaloo's with hand sanitiser and regular restocking of toilet roll - Tap now installed
Disliked: - Field was wet/muddy following period of heavy rain (no fault of the owners of course) so had to park in the compound area - Much of field on quite a steep slope but I was lucky getting a flat spot

Liked: Well what can I say, this site is amazing, the owners Jess and Dan can't help enough and are so friendly :) Its so near to Castleton a lovely walk through the fields or down Old Mam Tor road and you're there :) Loads of walks from your doorstep as you say :) we felt very safe and secure and a lovely little touch for the little ones are the tiny goats and chickens for them to pet :) We will definitely be staying here again x
Disliked: Absolutely nothing to dislike apart from it only being open so much of the year Jess you do an amazing job xx
