Liked: Lovely large field with lots of room and great views. Hosts were helpful and checked on us each evening. Electric showers and plenty of hot water for washing up. Lovely walks from the site and easy cycle access to the Cromford canal (apart from the hill back up to the campsite!) We enjoyed The Bear Inn at Alderwasley (5 mins drive) - great food.

Non-electric grass pitch
Liked: You can choose your pitch, very basic but clean toilets/shower block, and fast running drinking water in convenient position. Really friendly Farmer/family, felt really welcomed there. Really relaxed but also quick to react to noisy campers so you're more or less guaranteed a peaceful stay. Good sunny field. Quiet pitch just light hum of the nearby A6. Lovely cafe on the bottom of the hill, and start of Cromford canal walks in writhe direction to nearby villages.
Disliked: Not much to dislike - grass was quite long so ground sheet was bumpy and most areas on a slope so its good if you have ramps for a van or open early to pick the more level areas of the field.

Liked: Nothing not to like , been many times before and is always perfect. Field was dry and firm even after all the rain , will be back very soon for sure. The area is very large and even with a decent amount of campers there was plenty of space
