Electric grass pitch
Liked: Very welcoming at reception. Lovely scenic area with a soothing running river next to it. Facilities were without any flaws.
Disliked: There were a lot of small flies. If we had known how disruptive they were going to be we would have purchased a campfire. However, that is nature and some things are just out of our control.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked: Toilet and washing facilities were ok. There is a walk nearby.
Disliked: Not much to do for the kids or even much place for them to run around. Customer service was poor - lady at reception not very helpful in finding a fire pit but more than willing to tell another group that our BBQ placed 2 meters from our tent was “abandoned” for weeks (we have only been there 2 days) and they are welcome to it… Loads of midges about as well. Advertise as having WiFi but it barely works.

From the manager: Hello Kacper We are sorry you were unhappy during your stay. There is a playing field for children to run around in on the site and a play area at The White Water Centre only a 5 minute walk away. Fire pits are limited and we certainly wouldn't have offered yours away so maybe this was a miss communication. We pride ourselves in having friendly staff with good customer service. The midges are unfortunately out of our control. You stayed in the traditional camping field which the Wi-Fi doesn't reach to. The WiFi can be slow due to the amount of people that connect to it - this is why it is free.
Good price, family friendly, nice size. Will visit again

Liked: Showers were lovely and clean, lots of hot water. Toilet facilities centrally located. Staff friendly and site is well maintained.
Disliked: The bridge!!!! Arrgghhh the bridge entering the site is narrow! Yes you can fit a 8 m long caravan through but go slow and take it wide ! Midgies at night were very annoying so take big spray. Other than that no dislikes

Liked: Really lovely laid back site, with super clean facilities and friendly helpful staff. Great access to local towns and attractions and absolutely beautiful setting right on the river. Spent about a zillion pounds on milkshake, because the kids loved the novelty and it was absolutely delicious.
Disliked: Eaten half alive by midgies, which was no great surprise - but be sure to invest in decent repellent. The site shop sells citronella incense and tea lights which was really handy.

Liked: Our pitch backed onto the river which I thought was absolutely beautiful and looked very picturesque. The staff were lovely, Friendly & approachable. The fresh farm milk that was available from the vending machine was a great idea and tasted great. Nice to be able to get an ice cream treat on a Saturday night from the vending machine too albeit a tad expensive. We were on placed just as you drive in opposite reception which at first I was worried about thinking it would be really disruptive but it wasn't bad at all, it was actually really convenient. I was surprised at there only being 3 showers and not so many toilets in the ladies given the size of the site - perhaps this is something that needs be looked into? The pitches are rather close together once it starts filling up, but it didn't cause us too much of an issue being in a van, but I could understand it being a different story if we were in a tent.
Disliked: There is literally nothing around you for miles and miles and MILES!! Some people might like this (?) however, If you need something from the shop, or to go get some beers etc you have to literally go on a trip out. There isn't even a local pub 😆. When we arrived it was going dusk and OMG it was attack of the mozzy's from the moment we got out to set up the awning, they was literally swarms of them and they were relentless. I obviously know that this is not the fault of the site at all, it's nature, but if you are planning to stay here then just be aware that it is IMPOSSIBLE to sit outside of a night and enjoy a drink or anything - tried it twice and gave up. Tried a fire, tried the citronella candles, spray, everything, these little belters are a different breed lol!!!

Liked: Beautiful riverside pitches, the walk up the valley through the forest and the abundance of nature is delightful. There was a pizza vendor on site on the weekend that we visited, loved every minute. Well kept site with nice staff. Would recommend 👌
Disliked: You cant walk to any pub or shop, you need a vehicle to visit another town or amenity nearby. So one of you cant have a drink if you go out for a meal anywhere.

Liked: What’s not to like, lovely campsite, well maintained, toilets lovely and clean, 2 minute walk is the white water rapids with little cafe. Nice big field for dogs to go wild. Only downfall is no signal for TV, the owners given information when asked, Saturday a little pop up comes does lovely pizzas fresh, £10 but worth it
Disliked: Nothing, no Tv, take DVDs, WiFi but hit and miss but otherwise excellent weekend
