Liked: Peaceful location. Facilities reasonable and clean.
Disliked: If site is busy there maybe an issue with the number showers and toilets. Location is out of the way and need to follow directions given. Roads narrow and possible passing places can be muddy and churned up by tractors so be aware.

Liked: The area, the calmness of the place. The walks around the area are really nice. The host was super helpful and available if needed help.
Disliked: A couple of public walking paths was over grown but it was okay.

Liked: I liked The peace and quiet, it had everything you need for a peaceful weekend. Clean toilets and kitchen area. Plenty of bins. Host was there on arrival, friendly and informative. Not too far from places of interest to visit. We went to lowther castle and gardens. I would go and stay there again. Good value too.
Disliked: Not an issue but only for reference.. the roads from the site have no pavements so walking the dogs wasn’t very relaxing.

Liked: Super friendly, the area was really nice! We brought our two dogs and there was no issues. A nice quiet and peaceful site! I ended up not packing our tent pegs because I’m an idiot! But when I asked the gent at the reception if there was a shop locally to buy some they lent us enough to get the tent up! Perfect quiet break!! Would highly recommend!!

Liked: Excellent campsite within 30 minutes of either the Lake District or The North Pennines. The facilities are first rate and are cleaned on a regular basis. The essential wifi was most welcome too. I spent most of my time visiting the North Pennines with it's softer walks.
Disliked: The local pub was up for sale so closed. To go out for a meal meant a car trip of 20 minutes or so. Nothing to do with the campsite but worth mentioning.

From the manager: Thanks for this very kind review. Word is that there is a buyer for the pub. General view is that it will then need a major revamp, so reopening in the short term is unlikely, but the long-term prospects are rather better. A one-mile walk across the fields for a drink or a meal would be so attractive!
Lovely site with helpful and friendly owners
