Fully-serviced hardstanding touring pitch

Liked: Beautifully kept site. Very friendly staff. Facilities spotlessly clean. Were very accommodating in arranging a motel room for our friends as close to our pitch as possible.

Disliked: Road can be a bit noisy early morning. We paid for fully serviced pitch, but only the grey waste drain was on our pitch. The electrical point and water tap, was on the pitch next to us and my hubby had to push through a dividing hedge to access. It wasn't quite a fully serviced pitch if you have to do that.

Fully-serviced hardstanding touring pitch

Liked: Lovely flat pitch. Nice wide pitch with privacy hedges. Great showers. Great access off the M5. Ideally situated as a stopover on the way down south. Free WiFi on site. Lots of birds coming down for a few crumbs .

Disliked: Maybe a bit of noise from the motorway and plenty of helicopter and small planes going over. It wasn't a bother to us but some may not like it.

From the manager: Thank you so much for taking the time to share your feedback with us Kim. We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed your stay and appreciated the lovely and spacious pitch, the privacy hedges, and our washrooms. It’s great to know that our convenient location and free WiFi added to your positive experience. We're also thrilled that you enjoyed the company of our feathered friends! We understand that the noise from the motorway and the occasional flyovers from helicopters and small planes can be a bit distracting for some guests. We appreciate your understanding and are glad it didn't bother you. Thank you again for your valuable feedback. Best Wishes, The Briarfields Team

Fully-serviced hardstanding touring pitch

Liked: The Briarsfield site was fantastic—situated beautifully between Cheltenham and Gloucester it is a great site to enjoy both places and venture into the Cotswold villages-the site is managed well and the facilities are very clean —the Warden was always helpful and accommodating—we asked for an extra day which was awarded us with no problem—The pitch was brilliant with privacy by way of hedges and the facilities on the fully serviced pitch were really good—all in all a fabulous stay at a site that does Pitch-up proud

Disliked: Nothing disliked at all

Local attractions

Well. Where do we start? At least a day in Cheltenham first, we think – more if you’re coming to have a flutter at the racecourse just four miles away or jazzing it up at one of the many festivals. Catch the bus early to take in as much as poss: a morning coveting the art, furniture, crafts and jewellery at Cheltenham Art Gallery and Museum, many created by Cotswold craftspeople inspired by William Morris, should build up an appetite for lunch and an afternoon of shopping around The Brewery, Bath Road and in the well-lined High Street. Harry Potter fans and the history-inclined will likely want an hour or two at medieval Gloucester Cathedral, used in the first and second films (see if you recognise the Cloisters). Away from Hogwarts, the cathedral has an award-winning exhibition centre, exhibitions and guided tours, and regular events and concerts including The Three Choirs Festival, one of the oldest classical choral music festivals in the world. The Gloucester Docks and award-winning Waterways Museum is also a good afternoon out for heritage fans, while the more modern can find plenty to occupy them at the waterside retail park Gloucester Quays. Plunge into the countryside next for a couple of days in the Cotswolds, where you’ll find acres of things to do whatever your inclination such as punting around local villages like Chipping Camden and Bourton-on-the-Water, or visiting the many museums ranging from Roman to motoring times. Wildlife options abound too, particularly for birders, with the Cotswold Falconry Centre at the Batsford Arboretum, geese and swans at Slimbridge Wetland Centre, and Birdland Park and Gardens in Bourton-on-the-Water where twitchers can see rare birds from around the world, including England’s only group of king penguins. Finally, take a day or two in the ancient Forest of Dean (Harry Potter and co ended up here too), one of the oldest woodlands in the country, to go underground at the old mines of the Clearwell Caves, hire a bike to hit the forest tracks, or, more relaxingly, take the four and a half mile trip from Lydney to Parkend on the Dean Forest Railway.
