True to form, the Costa del Azahar – or, to use its name en inglés, the Orange Blossom Coast – is packed with splendid citrus trees that stretch all the way down this eastern part of Castellón. Looking for a well-maintained spot to settle down in while exploring these parts? Then you'll want to get yourself to a site named after another lush local export, that site being Los Olivos Camping Park. There's an awful lot to like here: quiet surroundings, a seasonal outdoor pool, pétanque and a gym where you can work off any extra ice cream calories out in the fresh air. You can also hire bikes on site, meaning you can stash your car/motorhome keys somewhere safe and forget about them for the rest of your stay… In terms of practicalities, there's a laundry room, wifi access and a dog-walking area where travelling pets can give their paws a good stretch. A small shop on site stocks a few everyday essentials, but the shops, bars and cafés of Alcalà de Xivert are an easy one-kilometre walk away if you’re in need of more. The town's main church has a particularly impressive tower that can be seen for miles around (including from certain spots on site), plus a castle with roots going back to the Knights Templar and Moorish conquest.

喜欢: It’s a lovely site with very clean and good facilities.
Reception are very helpful and it’s situated very near the town.
They have a dog park which was ideal for us.
The drinks at the bar are reasonable but don’t bother with the food.
The burgers are ok but basic , the bacon and cheese “hot” baguette
Was a slice of plastic cheese with cold uncooked bacon!
We did complain after it first came out just with a slice of plastic cheese. They took it back and threw in a good slice.
Such a shame as this was the only let down and explains why no one else was eating there.
But there’s loads of Spanish places to eat in town along with a supermarket (consum).
We would definitely stay here again

喜欢: Loved this little quaint place. Rather dated but we liked it. Walked into the Town (10 mins) wow 😁what a lovely little town, cobbles, a tiny square with bars & shops off every little cobbled alley - had a tapas in one of the “cove” cafes - loved it

喜欢: Everything, the pitch, the shower/toilets/laundry, the location - we couldn’t fault it. An easy ride 15 minute drive (we have a scooter) to the beach at El Compello and where we had a coffee in the town. The club is good for a cheap beer, they also do food which is also very reasonable.

不喜欢: Wi-if that we paid for was rubbish, we could never connect on our pitch so used the site wi-if at the club which was good.

喜欢: Good location to visit Peniscola with your own transport. Site quiet but not at weekends during to local fiestas / party's.

不喜欢: Areas need more care and attention e.g pool and outside seating for the bar.

喜欢: Spacious pitches, fantastic pool, great facilities, generally quiet. Excellent staff. Very good price. Dramatic views from the site.

不喜欢: The bar was deserted, so lacked a bit of atmosphere. Sounds of local dogs very loud in the morning, but this is a thing with rural Spanish campsites.

喜欢: Very very big pitches even the small ones.
.quiet location, perfect if you want rest for e.g. after hiking or biking. Some restaurants snd a consum in town.

Pool is great, bar is fine and very friendly staff.

Very clean sanitary and hot hot water which doesnt go off every 10 seconds (manual)

不喜欢: Few barking dogs in the campo, which is normal for spain.

If you've come to this coastal part of Spain, chances are you'll want to spend at least some of your time splayed out on a sumptuous stretch of sand. Alcossebre (15 minutes' drive) has an ace beach for just that, as well as coastal boardwalks, seafood bars, mountain views and plenty of ice cream spots. Peníscola (20 minutes) receives similar acclaim from holidaymakers, who flock here to swim while admiring vistas over its seaside citadel. Away from the coast, entertainment options include Papagayo Garden (15 minutes), an animal park with plenty of parrots, Panoramica Golf (35 minutes), an aptly-named sport spot with spectacular scenery, and Villafamés Contemporary Art Museum (35 minutes), a small but curious collection of modern pieces in a traditional hilltop village. Benicàssim (30 minutes), meanwhile, is a lively coastal town that plays host to a huge Spanish music festival every summer. Families will also find things to do around here, including the Aquarama water park and Plaça del Trenet, where the kids can whizz about on miniature locomotives. If you want to explore further afield, get set to drive to Tarragona (an hour and 20 minutes), where there's an impressive Roman amphitheatre and aqueduct.
