This is a spot where you’ll be sorted for stays of all sorts. Watery days around Alicante and along the Costa Blanca’s coastline are within easy reach of this family site; loads of watersports options are nearby, and you'll be within easy day trip distance of mountains, waterfalls, a waterpark and a theme park. Camping Alicante Imperium is a well-maintained spot a 20-minute stroll (or five-minute drive) from the nearest beach and within easy reach of watersports including surfing and jetskiing. Landlubbers will have access to several easy cycling and hiking trails nearby too, around the site and in the Sierra Helada Natural Park and the Aitana mountains, both a short drive from base. Leisure-wise on site, there’s a fine big pool to swim about in or laze alongside, as well as a smaller one where tiddlers to splash safely. During the summer months, the site team arranges family and kids' activities as well as guided excursions to local archaeological sites. The modern bar-restaurant’s menu is a varied one, with daily specials and often a happy hour; also handily, you can pick up fresh bread, milk and other essentials here every morning. For any supplies outside the basics, supermarket and smaller shops are in Villajoyosa town centre, a 15-minute walk away. Amenities include toilets and showers, a launderette, and a car wash to keep your vehicle in tiptop order. A double plus point for pooches too: they have their own beach area here and, for after, a shower to sort out straggly fur.

喜欢: Un camping con muy buen ambiente familiar. Excelente el restaurante. Animación todos los días para los pequeños. Fresquito por la noche.

喜欢: My family had the best time . Very clean site and well laid out . Staff helpful . Mostly Spanish , however our 3 children made many friends quickly with out speaking the language. We tried to stay longer as the children had the best holiday ever .

不喜欢: We couldn’t stay longer :(

喜欢: Clean showers good amenities - pool very crowded but it was the weekend. Polite receptionist.

不喜欢: Noisy inconsiderate pitch holders. Pitches too crammed together. TV and loud music all day and up to midnight. Dogs barking all night and someone decided to pitch a small tent literally a couple of feet from our motorhome, under our bedroom window (probably without permission as he pitched it late in the evening beforehand, and then he proceeded to pack it up at 5.45 am. So not only a sleepless night, a very rude, very early awakening to boot. What possessed the staff to allocate our pitch amongst huge parties of extended families who had no consideration for others is beyond us. We appreciate the need for families to gather but having an outside TV on all day (most of the time with no-one watching it) and playing music at high volume is very rude and very inconsiderate. We couldnt wait to leave. We had a thoroughly miserable stay. Too many people allowed on small pitches.

For an urbanised wander, Villajoyosa's colourful Old Town and fish market are a 15-minute stroll away; among the many top spots here the must-see must be St Joseph's Tower, considered to be one of Spain’s best-preserved Roman tombs. For watery days off site, head to watersports centres around Alicante and Benidorm for scuba diving, jetskiing and sea kayaking. If you’re on the Costa Blanca with kids, whisk them off to Aqualandia waterpark to have them giddily swooshing down slides and splashing among its tropical pools and lazy river. Also within easy reach is Terra Mítica theme park in Benidorm, around 10 minutes from base. For active days, head over to the Aitana mountains or the Sierra Helada Natural Park for walking and cycling trails, or take your swimming togs to Algar waterfalls for a dip. Afterwards, have a serene stroll around the nature reserve and arboretum, or a wander around the medieval local town of Callosa.
