Surrounded by mature trees five minutes’ walk from Platja de Bera beach, Camping Park Playa Barà is a holiday park that's well placed for all sorts of action. As well as being a 10-minute drive to the centre of Roda de Berà, the old city of Tarragona is 20 minutes’ drive south and Barcelona an hour north.
And the park is also packed with things to do for all the family. The highlight for many guests is the pool complex, with a large freeform pool, a kids’ slide pool (in high season), toddler pool and hot tub. The pine-shaded sun terrace has plenty of sun loungers and a poolside bar for those all-important cooling drinks. If that’s not enough to make you relax, try the Roman-themed spa, where you can be steamed, massaged and generally pampered back into shape.
Facilities for kids include miniature golf, sports pitches, a play area and a kids’ club with fun activities throughout the season. The on-site entertainment team keep you on your toes with disco evenings (for over-16s and in a soundproofed room so the music doesn’t disturb other guests), live bands and evening shows at the open-air amphitheatre.
Foodwise, take your pick from the à la carte restaurant and keep the kids happy with pizza from the takeaway or day-long treats from the snack bar. Alternatively, pick up bits to do your own thing at the on-site supermarket or bakery. Drinks are available at the main bar as well as by the pool and at the amphitheatre.

Although it might be tempting to chill around the pool every day, you can stroll down to the beach in five minutes. To burn off a bit more energy, there are several golf course in less than 30 minutes’ drive, and you might also like to try pony trekking in the Massís de Bonastre Protected Natural Area (30 minutes' drive).
There’s endless fun for kids too; hold family challenges at the go-karting racetrack (10 minutes) and later cool off on inflatables in Playa Aqua Park Calafell (20 minutes). Other high-octane ideas for family days out include thrill rides at Aqualeon water park and extreme rollercoasters at Ferrari Land (both 30 minutes).
For a taster of Catalan history, explore the Roman amphitheatre and aqueduct, or and dip into narrow medieval streets in Tarragona (20 minutes). Head up the coast to buzzy Barcelona (an hour) to tour the awesome, unfinished Sagrada Família cathedral and graze on tapas bars along Las Ramblas boulevard.
