Dreaming of a rural getaway without having to leave the reassuring embrace of civilisation? Càmping Lacus, a family-friendly site in a quiet forested area close to the centre of L’Escala on the Costa Brava in Catalonia, allows you to settle down in a scenic spot while being within easy reach of everything you might need for your hols. The site is less than five minutes’ walk from Riells beach – the largest in L’Escala – where you can have a go at windsurfing or kayaking, take out a catamaran or simply doze on the sand. When you’re feeling the need for some retail therapy, the shops are a short walk away. On site, laze under the trees or plonk yourself next to the lake for a spot of fishing. If you’d prefer to get a bit more active, but still in peace and quiet, have a game of pétanque, rack up a game of billiards or take a walk around the lake. No idle times are quite complete without a good feed, so head to the on-site restaurant for a meal, then waddle over to the bar to unwind on the terrace with a drink or two (it’s your hols – no one will judge). If you’d prefer a change of scenery, there are plenty of restaurants within an easy walk.

喜欢: Schöne zentrale Lage am See, Meer und zum Städtchen, Einkauf (Spar) und Restaurants in unmittelbarer Nähe, freundliches Personal, ausreichend großer Stellplatz.

不喜欢: Die Sanitäranlagen sind in die Jshre gekommen, sollen modernisiert werden, sind aber sauber. Der Mülleimer im Sanitärbereich dürfte gerne öfter geleert werden.

喜欢: Dat ik een plek had. Genoeg ruimte tussen de oude staancaravans

不喜欢: Toilet en douches. Vies en werd niet schoongemaakt.
Bij betaling deed de pin het niet. Dus heb contant betaald bij thuiskomst toch afgeschreven van mijn bank. Dus dubbel betaald. Aangegeven maar geen reactie gekregen. Jammer

喜欢: Nothing

不喜欢: Toilets not clean and extremely bad condition same as with the showers.
Fortunately we are self contained as would not even use their facilities.
The pitches were a bit muddy not marked out and need maintaining .
There is a lovely sitting area by lake,amongst the seats is an electric fuse
box wires still attached with the door hanging off which any child could put there hands in(does not matter wether it’s live or not).
No speed limits .No dog bins.
The receptionist was ok though .

喜欢: Nice location in town, quiet, good sized pitches, friendly reception.

不喜欢: Lots of permanent residents with quite a lot of crap on their pitches isn't so nice and the toilet and showers are old and tired, although they were clean. Also, they could provide loo roll in the toilets and a hand dryer.

喜欢: Mooie omgeving, plaats aan het meer, groen, en dichtbij strand alleen 5 min lopen. En in de stad.

不喜欢: Heel oude sanitaire voorzieningen ( maar wel heel schoon), en veel vaste bewoners die het een gevoel van “trailercamp” geeft.

There’s more to L’Escala than just the beach. Càmping Lacus is within walking distance of the scenic Old Town and the museum of Alfolí de la Sal – while you’re wandering the streets, be sure to take the time to try the local delicacy: anchovies. There are oodles of factories to visit, and the Museu de l’Anxova i de la Sal is worth a stop. The site is a 10-minute drive from the remains of the millennia-old trading town, Empúries, where you can explore the ruins that date to the second-century BC and visit the Museu d’Arqueologia de Catalunya. For a taste of human folly, pull on your serious shoes and hike to the spectacular but unfinished Montgrí Castle at the top of Torroella de Montgrí mountain then make yourself feel better about the successes of human civilisation with a visit to the Fundació Mascort gallery, both less than 20 minutes from Càmping Lacus. If you want a broader urban experience than you’ve had in L’Escala, the museums, galleries, restaurants and shops of the city of Girona are less than an hour from the site. The Museu del Cinema-Col·lecció Tomàs Mallol, the Passeig de la Muralla and, 20 minutes outside the city, the Fundació Mona primate sanctuary are must-sees.
