Looking for somewhere safe for the whole family to play ball games on a sandy beach, whizz down slides in a subtropical indoor pool or hire an electric boat to explore a lake? You can do all that – and more – at Vakantiepark BreeBronne, set in woodland five minutes’ drive from Maasbree in Limburg province. Yes, this place is totally geared up for kids and chilled family holidays. As well as all of the above, there’s an indoor paddling pool for novice swimmers, a shallow bay on the lake for toddlers to splash around in and an indoor playground with climbing frames and slides. Add to that mini-golf, organised games in peak season and live entertainment, and that’s the kids occupied pretty much all day. Adults get a look in too, at the casual beach bar from which they can keep an eye on their offspring in the water, and a coffee corner for a caffeine kick-start in the morning. Other foodie options include an ice-cream parlour (not just for the kids), a pizzeria, all-day snack bar and a bistro with a terrace for leisurely family dining. Self-catering? The market opens early every day for freshly baked bread rolls and croissants, as well as all the groceries you need to produce nourishing family meals.

喜欢: Facilities- e-boat on the lake for €25 hour, mini LANDROVER touring for children €27/hour, indoor pool with slides and jacuzzi, clean toilet block and showers, washing machines/dryers (buy tokens from reception for €4.50), pot washing areas- well designed, lots of hot water. Excellent place to stay with children. Pizza available from the on site pizza oven for reasonable prices (€12-15), well stocked supermarket, ice cream for sale near reception.

不喜欢: nothing really- limited info in English but this really wasn’t a problem

喜欢: Sehr toller Platz gerade für Kinder bietet er sehr sehr viel !

不喜欢: Die Öffnungszeiten könnten etwas angepasster sein, aber aufgrund der niedrigen Belegung ist es auch verständlich, dass die Öffnungszeiten der Modalitäten teilweise sehr kurzfristig sind.

喜欢: A large site with loads of facilities, but the touring pitches are grouped in smaller hedged areas. A nice site that I would choose to stay at again of I was in the area. All facilities top quality and clean as well.

喜欢: Beach and lake was great. Volleyball court and the giant bouncing cushion was good for kids. Shop was useful (very busy in the morning for pastries and bread). Having the indoor pool was useful on rainy days. Entertainment and some kids activities were available. They obviously don't get many British visitors as everything was in Dutch and German - but the staff all spoke English well. Although the site was big with lots of pitches it never felt over crowded in communal areas. Nice that the cars were kept in separate parking areas close to the pitches rather than on pitches themselves. We had drinks in the beach bar but didn't try the cafe/restaurant or snack bar

不喜欢: The pitches themselves were quite snug but still had enough room for our van, awning and stuff. Probably not great for older kids (13 and over) as it seemed to wind down about 10pm.

喜欢: There is SO much to do, excellent swimming pool, wonderful man made beachy are. Fabulous kids park, and the pastries in the morning were just excellent. Lots of trees and a wonderful atmosphere.

Indoor soft play that looked good but we didn't get time to indulge.

不喜欢: fruit/veg but area in the shop was empty for our whole stay.

If you can drag the kids away from the indoor pool complex and beach, there’s lots for them to see and do around Limburg province. Toverland takes care of the thrill seekers with adrenaline rides, and also suits younger kids thanks to its live shows and gentle carousels. If that doesn’t exhaust everyone, spend the day playing laser games at Taurus World of Adventure (both 15 minutes’ drive). After all that running around, head for the steam rooms and saunas at Thermaalbad Arcen to recuperate, or reward yourselves with a tour of the copper vats and cooperage at Hertog Jan Brewery (both half an hour) before tasting a bottle or two of its hoppy beers. Trying to sneak some culture into the kids? Take them to Limburgs Museum (15 minutes) to journey through local history, or make a beeline for The World Pavilion Steyl (20 minutes), where VR films and games take you all flying across the world.
