Hire a paddleboat, snorkle around Calabrian coves – then to the beach bar for piadina and wine before heading back out for the afternoon… if that sounds like a pretty perfect day to you, then Vibo Valentia's Il Calabriano Villaggio Camping will be a pretty perfect site.
Perché? Because it's in the sunny region of Calabria on the 'Coast of the Gods' on Italy's sunny southern coast, a few minutes from sea of clear blue and beach of gold sand: pack the sunblock, the fins and the snorkel mask for a blissful Italian seaside hol.
This site has a good range of facilities, including a small restaurant serving Calabrian food along with international and Mediterranean options, a grocery shop stocked with traditional products and daily essentials, and a bar for drinks and coffee.
There's also that beach bar mentioned above, which dishes up sandwiches and piadina for fortification in between all the snorkelling and boating. And as for amenities? The site has a toilet block with free hot showers, toilets and washing-up sinks.

After days swimming, sunbathing, snorkelling and boating around Il Calabriano Villaggio Camping's sea, get set to explore the seaside resorts of the rest of this heavenly coast, like at Tropea, nine kilometres away; the views of the sea from here are spectacular.
Other cities on the same coast are Pizzo Calabro – recommended options including seeing its castle and investigating its tartufo ice-cream – and Nicotera, with a cathedral dating back to the eighteenth century and comely buildings almost on the beach.
A boat trip around the volcanic archipelago of the Aeolian Islands is also much recommended, particularly its main isle of Lipari; the active volcano of aptly-named Vulcano, and Stromboli, with the UNESCO World Heritage Site hamlet of Ginostra.
