Everything is geared up for families at Les Seulières, a laidback holiday park with Atlantic Ocean views on the Isle of Oléron in the Charente-Maritime. Why is it so good for kids? Well, the site is quiet and safe, in summer nearby Plage des Huttes beach is supervised, there are two heated swimming pools, it has a play area… and so it goes on. Teens also get their own spot for chilling and having fun – an area dedicated to playing darts and table tennis, plus a video-game station where they can hang out with friends of their own age. At Les Seulières, adults are not forgotten either: a quiet corner for reading and snoozing by the sun deck, a Jacuzzi for soaking away any stresses you may have brought along, and an outdoor fitness area for those who'd like to maintain their workout routine. Outdoorsy families can also rent bikes at the park and discover some of the flat cycle paths around the island. Catering matters are all taken care of too, with a terrace bar open for all-day snacks (continental breakfast can be ordered the day before), and a simple menu full of dishes that should please even fussy kids. In high season, seafood and freshly made pizza are available twice a week.

Backed by grassy dunes, Plage des Huttes (five minutes’ walk) is a long stretch of sandy beach that's well known for watersports; here you can hire all the gear to go surfing, kitesurfing, windsurfing and body-boarding – in fact any kind of surfing. Lifeguards are in attendance during the school summer holidays. For family excursions around Oléron, hire bikes and set out on 160 kilometres of cycle paths; depending on the route chosen, they’ll take you past oyster shacks, sandy beaches, salt marshes or vineyards in the north of the island. If your offspring are too young for bikes, jump on the free shuttle (high season only), which stops off at beaches, Chassiron Lighthouse (10 minutes’ drive), Château d’Oléron (35 minutes) and Centre Aquatique Iléo (half an hour) among other family-friendly attractions. A holiday in this part of France is incomplete without a visit to a market, so to sample the best local produce, head for Marché de La Cotinière (25 minutes). The stalls are loaded with fresh seafood (including oysters in season), fresh breads, regional cheeses and a fine array of colourful fruit and veg; there’s nowhere better to put together a picnic and eat it overlooking the neighbouring fishing harbour.

喜欢: Everything. Fantastic welcome at reception, could not have been better. Felt at home straight away, facilities fantastic, customer service excellent. Best fresh bread on a campsite. Stunning location. Missing the beach & all that was on offer as felt super special thanks to all the team that obviously work so hard to keep this all so lovely, clean & welcoming. 喜欢: The friendly reception and guests. The showers and loos were spotless at all times. The plots a decent size - they are open plan though so bear in mind. The location is perfect for local shops, the beaches, and the best cycle routes.

喜欢: Great location for expoloring the beach and cycle rides. Good pool and play area for the kids. Onsite snack bar serving great pizzas.
Staff were great and really helpful.

不喜欢: Unisex toilet and shower areas with no hand soap.

喜欢: The site is well managed nice restaurant on site with great pizza and burgers at good price. Beach is 5 minutes away and local markets can be accessed by cycle tracks easily and safely. Clean toilets and shower and big pitches for our big tent. One of the best sites we have been to recently.

不喜欢: WiFi a bit patchy. It not an issue
We just wanted to download some films for the children for the evening.

不喜欢: Ran out of soap in the loos a week into our stay and it wasn't replaced.

喜欢: The cleanliness and friendlyness of this site is second to none. The staff are so helpful, pleasant, polite and speak excellent English. The food is amazing and reasonably priced. Leffe on tap too....... Bonus! Toilet/shower blocks immaculate as is the pool area and bar/restaurant. Pitches are a good size too and level. Felt safe for the kids to hang around on site. Great access to beach and fantastic cycle paths along with the amazing free bus service that takes you around the whole island. Oh and not to forget the train that takes you to the market and back every morning for just ,,€2 per person.A+

Pool could do with a few extra sun beds. The shop could do with a few more camping and other necessities, IE:- chemical blue/pink, loo roll, bread, butter and just general essentials you may forget. A few more arcade machines for the kids and an area of grass/field for kids/families to play ball games.
