In pole position for exploring the Ardennes Regional Nature Park, Arden Parks Signy l’Abbaye is surrounded by greenery on the edge of the small Champagne-Ardenne village of Signy-l’Abbaye. Recipient of a thorough makeover in 2024, this family-friendly spot is also handy for visiting the Champagne region around Reims, or historic towns such as Sedan and Charleville-Mézières.
On the other hand, you can decide to stick around on site for a splash in the swimming pool, walks or bike rides in peaceful woodland straight from the pitches or fishing on the ponds nearby. And of course, one of the site’s biggest selling points is Arden Parks Accrobranche, reopened in 2025 with lots of new and challenging treetop courses and ziplines.
There’s a small site shop for restocking on essentials, and if you don’t feel like cooking after all your sporting activity – no problem. Just make your way to the cosy restaurant/bar to tuck into delicious and seasonal local dishes. It’s handily close to the playground too, so you can keep an eye on the kids when you sneak in a crafty beer.
There’s entertainment on most evenings, from karaoke sessions to foam parties and bingo nights, but no pressure to join in if you’d rather just chill back at your accommodation.

Who’s for Champagne? You can start a tour of France’s most well-known wine region in gorgeous Reims (55 minutes’ drive), with its imposing cathedral and prestigious wine caves. Other historic towns well-worth exploring include handsome Sedan (45 minutes), sitting on the River Meuse and best-known for the themed shows at its vast castle, or Charleville-Mézières (35 minutes), where you can take walking tours of the once-fortified medieval ramparts.
When history really doesn’t do it for the kids, take them to meet Woinic (20 minutes), a colossal bronze statue of a boar surveying the untamed countryside of the Ardennes Regional Nature Park (10 minutes). The park is gateway to all sorts of outdoor adventures too, from hiking to rafting.
Sometimes older offspring want something really hard core. If that’s the case with your lot, challenge them with soaring ziplines over the Meuse at TerrAltitude (45 minutes), where they can also try bungee jumping and paintballing.
