Neatly landscaped pitches surrounded by greenery and flowers and a scenic setting on the banks of the Couesnon River – that's the deal at family-friendly Camping Haliotis near Pontorson in Lower Normandy. From the moment you arrive on site, everything is designed to make things easy for families. Spacious grassy pitches are separated by hedges to ensure your privacy. Amenities include heated facilities blocks with disabled access, plus the use of a laundry room with a washing machine and tumble dryer to keep on top of chores. There’s a daily croissant and fresh bread service, and plenty going on to keep all the family occupied. Youngsters can jump around on the bouncy castle and visit the mini-zoo to cuddle the goats, ponies and rabbits, while their teenage counterparts run around playing football, basketball or volleyball at the multisports area, or challenge each other to games of tennis or pétanque. And you? Well, it’s your holiday too. Daily life drifts around the bar terrace, where you can order breakfast, snacks and all-day drinks while keeping an eye on your offspring in the heated pool. During high season, there’s a kids' club on site, so you can enrol your children there and chill in the Jacuzzi or sauna knowing they are safe and happy. Organised entertainment will keep everyone busy at Camping Haliotis too, including sports tournaments, live music and themed nights. But fun as life is on site, don’t forget that the landmark Mont Saint-Michel is 20 minutes’ drive away – you really shouldn’t miss it.

喜欢: Thanks to the member of staff who let me order a part for my van to the campsite as without new part the van was off the road. Very accommodating. Had no problem with receiving parcel an keeping it for me. Saved our holiday Merci!!

Good size pitches and felt quite private as most are surrounded by hedges. We stayed on pitch 34.

Good campsite with bar and swimming pool. Staff very helpful.

喜欢: Great site nice secluded pitches ,pool great and friendly staff showers and toilets ok and close to supermarket and town, bar area should be cleaned everyday as rubbish from previous days not cleaned and glass surrounding pool are dirty, wifi intermittent and poor .

喜欢: Stayed one night on our way from Brittany to Cherbourg. Easy to find and drive too. Great location to Mont Saint Michel. Pitch was very level however tight to get the caravan onto, luckily the pitch opposite was free to use to manoeuvre onto. Clean toilets and shower block. Gardens well maintained with good facilities for the kids. Pool looked lovely however we didn’t get chance to use it. Would definitely use the site again but would upgrade to a better pitch.

不喜欢: The lack of space to get onto the pitch. Upon arrival reception did not tell us the best route to take to get onto the pitch.

喜欢: Pitches were wide and spacious and room between each one . Showers and facilities were always clean . Easy to walk into Pontesoron for restaurants. You cycle onto a route straight to Mont Michel and other cycling routes . A great location .

不喜欢: Limited wi - fi . Shop limited but carrefor next door .

Mont Saint-Michel (20 minutes’ drive) on the Emerald Coast is the big-hitting attraction in these parts: a splendid tidal island topped by a 13th-century abbey. Wear sturdy shoes to climb steep stone steps and potter around cosy auberges, cafés and souvenir shops on your way up to the Terrasse de l’Ouest for far-reaching views over the bay. If you’d rather explore on two wheels, rent a bike at the campsite and follow the riverside cycle path to the island (half an hour’s ride). The historic seaside resort of Saint-Malo (45 minutes’ drive) is another highlight of the Emerald Coast. Take a day trip to stroll its medieval ramparts, hike out to the Petit Bé fort at low tide, or enjoy a leisurely seafood lunch in a harbourside restaurant. Kids getting bored? Let them loose on the expanse of sand at Sillon beach, or tootle around the town on a sightseeing mini-train. Don’t forget Cancale (40 minutes), where you can feast on oysters farmed in the bay, and walk the seafront Sentier des Douaniers footpath for fantastic views over Mont Saint-Michel.
