Whether you're heading out for the morning, afternoon or the whole day, there are plenty of stunning spots to visit from Camping Gippelblick Kernhof. Perhaps begin with a drive to Mariazell (25 minutes’ drive) for Salza Valley scenery and a stroll around to gawp at the historic sites in this popular pilgrimage destination.
For those who like to go wild swimming, Erlaufsee (half an hour) is a stunning mountain lake where you will certainly get a refreshing dip. The beach has two waterslides and a kids’ playground. The lake also has a boat rental place (with paddleboards up for grabs too) and a diving school.
Like a hearty dose of adrenaline? Right next to the hiking trails on Hennesteck, there's a zipwiring centre called Zipline Annaberg (25 minutes), whose wire runs parallel to the mountain chairlift. Reaching up to 75 kilometres per hour, this zipwire is all about taking in the mountain scenery at speed.
Maybe you only have a couple of hours to squeeze in another activity. If so, try the Schleierwasserfall (15 minutes), a gorgeous waterfall just a short walk away from the road.
