Family-run The Paddocks Caravan and Camping is a small and ultra-organised site with well-maintained, flat and spacious pitches in north Wales. It’s less than five minutes’ drive to the beach at Criccieth, and around half an hour to the imposing castles at Harlech and Caernarfon, making this a cracking adults-only base from which to explore the Llŷn Peninsula. It's a 10-minute trip by car to the wide, south-facing sands at Pwllheli, a former haunt of smugglers and pirates. You'll find it quite a bit calmer these days, especially if you follow the fab Llŷn Peninsula Coastal Path round the peninsula for views and wildlife and splendid sea air. Sandcastles, paddling and rockpool exploration are all there for the taking. If you’d rather ditch the car, a bus stop is five minutes’ walk away, or you can explore on two legs – perhaps a good place to start is the local village of Llanystumdwy (five minutes’ walk), as it’s the burial place of former Prime Minister David Lloyd George. You can see his grave and visit a small museum, and afterwards stroll down the banks of the scenic River Dwyfor or pop into the pub for a pint. Gleaming facilities on site include a well-lit shower block with two private bathrooms (each containing a large shower, wash-hand basin and toilet), plus a separate adjacent shower with a dressing room and a hair dryer. Nearby is a covered communal area with a table and seating, plus two washing-up sinks, a fridge-freezer, a separate drinks fridge, a microwave, toaster and a kettle. There's also a phone-charging point. Firepits and barbecues are allowed, but they must be raised off the ground and set up on one of the concrete slabs provided. Small chimineas and barbecues are available for nightly hire on site, and you can buy logs and charcoal here too. Please note that parties are not permitted – this is a quiet site.

喜欢 Absolutely everything. Owner came & greeted us, so welcoming & helpful. Fantastic site, with fabulous showers, toilet facilities & brilliant dishwashing area. Just a wonderful, lovely place to stay. We could only stop for one night but would have loved to stay for longer.

喜欢 We stayed at The Paddocks Caravan and Camping and honestly, it’s everything you could hope for in a campsite – and more.

From the moment we booked, Leigh and Juliette were incredibly helpful, sending clear, thoughtful directions to make sure we avoided any tricky narrow roads. Their email was a perfect example of the personal touch – a real sign of the care they put into the place.

The site itself is beautifully laid out and immaculately clean. The toilet and shower facilities were spotless throughout our stay – easily among the best we’ve experienced anywhere.

Dog owners will appreciate the well-maintained walking area with mown paths that cleverly allow you to deconflict with other dogs as needed. It’s little thoughtful touches like this that set The Paddocks apart.

The setting is peaceful, the pitches well-spaced, and everything is clearly looked after with pride. You really get the sense this site is run by people who care deeply about their guests’ experience.

We’d return in a heartbeat – thank you Leigh and Juliette for such a warm and well-run site!
