Adventurous types, unite, and make your way to Bryn Gloch Caravan and Camping Park. This is the type of place where holidaymakers can hike all day long, and it's peaceful too, on the banks of the river Gwyrfai with views of the Eryri (Snowdonia) mountains and the north Wales countryside. There are walking routes directly from the site – good news for those with dogs or a lust for adventure. One of the UK’s longest heritage railways, the Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railways, passes through the site on its 25-mile journey past the foot of Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon). You might want to board it yourself Caernarfon (10 minutes’ drive) and see if you can spot your patch of land as you pass by. That’s after you’ve experienced one of the boat trips that run along the Menai Strait from the quayside below Caernarfon Castle, of course. There’s a very generous serving of facilities at Bryn Gloch Caravan and Camping Park, from heated bathrooms and wifi to playgrounds and a games room. The pitches are spacious, giving you plenty of opportunities to soak in the scenery.

喜欢 Lovely location with fabulous views of the mountains. Good sized plots, convenient location. Stayed after schools had returned so quieter which we prefer. Average facilities on the fields. Option to use the better facilities in main building at entry.

不喜欢 Quite a walk to the toilets/showers especially in the rain!

Very friendly and helpful staff, especially during some particularly rough weather which saw damage to our tent and the guys were quick with spares which avoided disaster.

喜欢 Site was tidy and well managed, the pitches are large and not to tightly packed together. Nice tidy bathrooms and facilities. Loads of shower and toilet blocks throughout the site. The shepherd hut style ones are better for hair rinsing and a little more family friendly as you have a toilet and washing up facilities in one station. 2 play grounds and bar for the adults and a food truck. Lots of nice places to drive too and not far from town enough to keep us busy for a long weekend in the rain. Short journey off the 55 so if your new to towing it's not down too many winding lanes. Reception is tidy and helpful. The river is a nice aspect that the kids can splash in and the mountain railway goes through the site so any train enthusiasts will be happy. Its not loud or intrusive so nothing to bother you. Very dog friendly around the area so that's nice. Hard standing pitches are well built, so take extra pegs and a good hammer!

不喜欢 If you'd rather prefer a more powerful shower use the smaller blocks.

喜欢 Location of this site is perfect for access to snowdon and surrounding areas, easy access, well organised, level pitches with everything you need and surrounded by scenic mountains and hills. Highly recommend this site, we loved it. We will stay again when back in the area.

喜欢 Site was lovely and well presented. Fully serviced grass pitch was well laid out with electric, water and drainage very close, relatively level. Toilets and showers cleaned regularly. Good phone and 4G signal all over the park. WiFi was one of the best we've used on a site.

不喜欢 Not enough toilets and showers on the field for the amount of people staying (school holidays), although all had the option to use blocks on other fields, these were also busy at peak times.

Visit the grave, take in the views from the Aberglaslyn Pass (15 minutes) and then visit the Sygun Copper Mine (20 minutes) to learn more about the conditions in 19th-century mines. Adventurous types can tackle the fastest zipwire in the world at Zip World Penrhyn Quarry (half an hour). With underground trampolines based in slate caverns, you’re likely to work up a sweat. GreenWood Family Park (20 minutes) has traditional rides, including family-friendly rollercoasters. Where next? Perhaps Caernarfon Airport (25 minutes), where there’s an aviation museum and pleasure flights along the Menai Strait and around Snowdon? Portmeirion (35 minutes), an Italianate village featured on the telly? Or Llanberis (20 minutes), where the mountain railway departs? Llanberis is close to the National Slate Museum (20 minutes), which has the largest working water wheel in Britain.
