Ben ffridd campground with far-reaching views

There’s remote and then there’s really remote. If you’re after the latter, make a beeline for Gadlas Wild Camping, 15 minutes’ drive from Bala in Gwynedd, North Wales. Here there are four meadows set aside for ‘proper’ wild camping on a 40-acre working sheep farm; the small number of pitches all have spectacular views towards the Cadair Berwyn mountains and on clear days you can see Llyn Tegid in the distance too. Facilities only stretch to composting loos, so you’ll need to bring in all your vital stuff – drinking water, torches and food for starters, and barbecue kits if you’re going down the self-catering route. To add a touch of adventure to your Welsh escape, the pitches can only be accessed by four-wheel drive, although the farm owners do offer a quad-and-trailer service to take you and all your gear to your pitch. And remote most certainly doesn’t mean nothing to do. All the walking, hiking, biking and climbing offerings of Eryri National Park are but 15 minutes’ drive away, Bala has shops, cafés and a watersports centre, and there’s a pub about 15 minutes’ stroll from the pitches.

喜欢: The location was amazing. So secluded and peaceful. Our hosts were very warm and friendly, and clearly cared a lot for the land. We loved the firepit, and the ability to order logs.

不喜欢: The only things I would say that could be improved would be having access to drinking water, and if possible, access to a shower or somewhere to clean yourself up.

喜欢: Lovely views of the Berwyn range. Nobody else in sight. Even got most of my gear taken up the hill on quad which I was very thankful for as it’s very steep. It was my choice to go up to the top for views as there were plenty of spaces down at bottom.

不喜欢: Nothing really. As usual the wind blows hard in wales so make sure you take appropriate gear. Ground is skate / shake so you may need to secure pegs with rock weights but plenty about.

喜欢: This campsite was incredible, one of the best we have stayed at!
Views are absolutely stunning.
Location is great.
We have two young children and a dog and not once did we worry about them walking off and doing their own thing as there is so much space!!
Very friendly and welcoming owners.

喜欢: Absolutely beautiful little spot in the middle of the woods. Felt like a true wild camping spot. The hosts were easy to communicate with and attentative to any needs. A fire pit with logs was available to rent (ample amount of logs provided for the cost). A compost toilet is available. If you are looking for a camping spot reflective of wild camping then this beautiful site is the place to be. Can't wait to go back. 😃

如若延迟到店，必须尽快告知公园。您的订单将保留 24 小时。24 小时后管理人员有权重新出租您预订的单元。
如遇恶劣天气、延迟到店或提前离店，不予退款/打折。
营地将在您到店前5天向您发送更详细的入住信息。

安全

严禁明火。
如需生火，必须在营地购买燃料、木头和煤炭。
建议住客自行携带高质量手电筒，因为部分营地区域没有照明。
禁止使用燃气烧烤。
禁止携带枪支。
禁止木炭烧烤。
禁止用电烧烤。
请不要触摸或喂食动物。
