Originally a drovers' inn, The Crown Inn is a handsome Grade II-listed pub sitting in a peaceful position by the river Alwen in the pretty North Wales village of Llanfihangel Glyn Myfyr. Lying just behind the pub and skirted by ancient woodland, the pub's laidback camping area has easy access to forest trails, fishing on the riverbank and drinks in the bar. Access to The Crown Inn and Campsite is via a ford crossing that crosses the river – an exciting and intrepid journey that's sure to hold particular appeal for younger guests. A short wander away, there's a small waterfall that cascades down from the top of the woods into the river below – keep an eye out for fairies around here, as they're known to hang around in the area by the wooden bridge… Facilities here consist of well-maintained compost toilets and a washing-up area on site. There's access to The Crown Inn's bar and restaurant, which serve up good food and drinks throughout the week. Looking for things to do during your down-time? Relax by the riverbank, try a spot of catch-and-return fishing in the Alwen or fix yourself a firepit. You can also book some time at the site's private alpaca paddock to feed The Crown Inn's friendly boys, or sign up to an alpaca walk through the surrounding countryside with a woolly companion by your side.

喜欢 Absolutely fantastic location. Cabin is small and basic but clean and ideal for 1 night. Had 4 children under 10 and 3 adults, all had a decent bed, the balcony gave extra space in the cabin and there was plenty of outdoor space for bbq and fire pit.

不喜欢 1) The onsite pub does serve evening meals but does not serve breakfast

2)There is very limited parking at the site and not really anywhere to offload a vehicle near the cabin. This can't be helped due to the riverside location, but it does mean either a short walk down the road or (for the brave) wading through the river

喜欢 The location is incredible. The pub and staff are all great. The sheep we shared the field with made the kids weekend. I was a little wary when we booked about the loos being across the river but it didn’t cause us any issues at all, I enjoyed my little paddle before washing up! :)

喜欢 Everything, meadow field is secure, friendly neighbours (sheep and chickens) and staff and clean facilities. On site accommodation and riverside pitches are well marked and there's something for everyone. Alpacas to see at the bottom of the campsite. Great variety of accommodation. Beer garden is beautiful. Composting toilet is extremely clean. Great for a mini adventure going across the ford to get to the toilets or over the bridge.

喜欢 Everyone at The Crown was first rate. Friendly and super helpful. We travelled a long way, arriving pretty late but we well looked after.
Great location, interesting campsite with lovely old traditional pub. Will definitely be back.

Alpaca Area - Ash 钟型帐篷 (可容纳四人)

喜欢 What a dream stay! Everything was perfect, a night with two older girls who thoroughly enjoyed every minute, the alpacas were so friendly & the owners were lovely, definitely book the alpacas walk it was great! We highly recommend a stay!

喜欢 What a lovely campsite, nestled by the river. Great pub too -the Welsh cheese and leek quiche was excellent - with good service at the multi-level outside area. Nice vibes. Helpful staff. Beautiful trees, calming river, impressive old bridge, the ford across the river

喜欢 Quiet site, beautiful setting by the river. Food and drink in the pub was reasonably priced and our meals were super nice . Staff friendly, landlord even got us milk from shop as we'd forgotten it. Pitches were level and large. There was also alpacas on site and due to being on the riverside, there was lots of wildlife.

The village of Llanfihangel Glyn Myfyr is in a central location in North Wales, so both the north and west coasts of the country are within an hour's drive too. If you've got kids or teens to keep entertained, popular options to keep them busy include Go Below Underground Adventures (20 minutes), a caving outfit based in Betws-y-Coed, the woodland rides and activities at Zip World Fforest (25 minutes) or taking a trip to see the many species of animals and birds at the Welsh Mountain Zoo (50 minutes). For something silent and serene instead, take a soothing stroll around the grounds of Clocaenog Forest (five minutes; free parking available at Bod Petryal car park), keep your eyes and ears peeled for osprey at Llyn Brenig (15 minutes) or appreciate the horticultural offerings on display at Caerau Gardens (25 minutes).
