Oban Holiday Park

喜欢: A semi wild beautiful/stunning location. Even in the rain. 😅
Loved the fact we could choose where we pitched up. Pitched up right beside the Loch. Very dog friendly.
We only used the toilet facilities, which were spotless. We didn't use the kitchen area as we like the novelty of cooking outdoors but really great that it was an option.
Sadly we had to cut our stay short due to the weather. But that's the joys of camping.
We will most definitely come again and recommend to friends.

喜欢: Staff were friendly when we arrived
Its location near to Oban

不喜欢: Overpriced site that is clearly developing its static mobile home business but couldn’t seem bothered with their touring site .
Pitches were on the whole sloped , grass uneven and uncut .
Facilities block were clean but in need of TLC . Some outdoor washing up facilities had no hot water .
It’s location though good from Oban didn’t allow a walk around the loch

From 3 weeks of touring Scotland and the Islands this was the most expensive and in places was a building site

喜欢: Not much

不喜欢: Could not use water for drinking as there was a risk of pollution, therefore could not fill up tank.
Heavy earth works until 20.30 hours in the evening using bulldozer and tractors
Day-light street lighting on high lamp posts in the middle of a green field which had no road, bad light pollution no dark sky's unnecessary

不喜欢: Ok, this was are 4th stop on our 4 week tour of Scotland with 2 more sites to visit.
Honestly if we had not another 2 sites to go to we would have come home after the first night.
Firstly, when we arrived we were told the best places to pitch up did not have electricity, but it was being worked on.
Next, the Pitchup advertisement for Oban holiday park clearly states “internet access “ and “Free WIFI”. There is no such thing for the touring pitches. This is clearly false advertising and a blatant lie.
Next, the site is clearly cashing in, on the lucrative static caravan market and as such there is a lot of earth moving during the day. Large earth moving machinery going constantly during the day, so unless your a huge “Goldrush” fan or love hearing excavators and rock trucks all day every day, don’t say you weren’t warned!!
The wash, toilet and shower blocks stink of excrement and when the wind blows you get it all over the touring pitches.
The site has a “ Nature walk and dog exercise area. As we were travelling with our 2 dogs we were looking forward to this. Unfortunately you honestly need climbing equipment, ropes and crampons to scale it and it has a rock face that would scare Bear Grills in his best day.
There are no laundry facilities and the water is not fit for human consumption, which we had prepared for, however even our dogs were unwell from drinking it.
In summary, we wouldn’t stay here again if you paid us the booking fee three times over

喜欢: A lovely little site 2 1/2 miles outside Oban easily walking distance down a very pleasant lane.

不喜欢: The shower/toilet block was kept clean but the floor was always wet around the urinals. Don’t over know if it was water coming from the shower curtains or the urinals overflowing.

不喜欢: Uneven, sloping pitches, took a while to get level!

Showers were OK but only hot water in the sinks was a bit odd

Mainly caters for their own static holiday homes, lots of building work going on to increase number of holiday homes

No contact from anyone running the site
