Martha's Down

喜欢: This is a great location, lovely big field, small toilet and shower block but they are great quality. Due to the elevated location it can get a bit windy but there are tall hedgerows all around the perimeter. Nice short walk to a couple of pub options, both excellent.

喜欢: As ever our stay at Martha’s was fabulous. Relaxing and so peaceful. Love going there. Rob is brilliant at sorting things out when needed.

喜欢: The site is in a beautiful and peaceful location. There is plenty of space around the edge of the field and we didn't feel hemmed in at all. Level pitches. There were several.families also staying and the children were having a wonderful time playing ball games and riding their bikes in the middle of the field. A joy to see. Rob and Helen the owners are extremely friendly and helpful. A 15 minute stroll using footpath to the village centre where there are 2 very good pubs.

喜欢: The quietness of the site, the rolling views of the Wiltshire countryside, pitch size and the cleanliness of the facilities. The closeness to Longleat safari park and Stonehenge

喜欢: Basic cheap site, grass was well tended too and fine to drive on even in driving rain, facilities were spotless, and electric was full 16A with no meters or faff. Noticed the barn that feeds it has tons of solar panels which is nice to see. Owner nice & friendly!

不喜欢: No potwash type area with sink/hot water, would have been awkward had we stayed longer (not advertised in fairness, but worth mentioning)

Just a note that there is a washing up station with two sink behind the toilets and showers

喜欢: Met the owner on arrival, and he was really friendly and personable.

Site was based on a large field and as the website promised, it was very quiet with beautiful views.

Facilities were clean and modern and there was room in the showers to hang your clothes and keep them dry. (This isn’t always the case in some campsites.)

The walks were incredible. Lots of ups and downs, through rolling fields.

Had a drink at the Lamb pub a couple of times in the very pretty and quite idillic village.

Loved it and we’ll be back!

不喜欢: Struggling to think of anything other then it was a bit blowy, which is the trade off for being on the top of a hill, with beautiful panoramic views.

喜欢: Very spacious pitches. Spaced around the edges of a large field, which made it feel uncramped. 6 year old grandson loved playing in the centre space. Grass looked after meticulously. Showers and toilets were event type portacabins and very modern and clean. Chemical waste point well kept. We had ehu. Fabulous views and very peaceful. Owner friendly and helpful. No playground or cafes or entertainment but this was exactly what we wanted. It rained heavily one day but pitches were well drained and not sodden or muddy. Some people had fire pits. One inconsiderate camper left the fire going after they left which could have been dangerous in dryer weather.

喜欢: Non EHU, so welcome to pitch wherever we liked in a large well-tended field. Helen also allowed us to arrive early - very friendly and welcoming!
The views were exceptional in all directions, there were a number of fresh water taps dotted around the field, and smart-looking portacabin facilities (toilets and showers). Chemical waste dump in the corner of the field.
Easy walk into the village, with pubs.
