Simple, spacious pitches are the order of the day at Little Thornham Campsite – along with stunning views over Salisbury Plain. This peaceful site is part of a small farm in the Wiltshire countryside, half a mile from the A361 for a location that’s relatively easy to access but mercifully far away from traffic noise. It’s a real back-to-basics setup here, with just a compost toilet, a cold water tap and a cold-water washing-up area on the facilities front (please note there are no showers and no chemical disposal point). There’s plenty of open space for kids (and grownups too…) to play games in the field by the pitches, though. A highlight here is likely to be a meal cooked out in the open – you’re welcome to bring barbecues and firepits (although their use may have to be banned in very hot, dry weather). Wood is available to buy from the farm, along with a whole range of fresh produce including sausages and eggs from the farm and burgers from the local butcher. There’s also a fresh milk delivery three times a week. Other bits can be picked up from the shops in Melksham, 10 minutes' drive away. If you fancy a break from cooking, take a walk instead to one of the nearby pubs – there’s one 15 minutes away (with lovely food, a garden and a play area) or another 20 minutes away by the Kennet and Avon Canal. This is also the place for a good long waterside walk or a bit of fishing (just make sure to bring the relevant licence with you).

The facilities provided were more than expected. the communal kitchen was excellent. It was all immaculate. such beautiful views with lots of open space which was ideal

喜欢: I brought my 3 children 23,16 and 9 to stay for 2 nights. My grandad lives 20 min from the camp so this was our reason for staying. We haven’t done glamping before. We had a lovely time. Didnt stay on camp much as my mum had a caravan up the roads 8 mins so we used there to eat etc but there was things on camp u can use to cook. We did make camp fires both nights which the kids enjoyec esp with the marshmallows cooked. They loved the farm animals too. Very quiet even early morning which i was suprised as I expected a early wake up with animals so close. Staff friendly and always ready to help in anyway. Toilets and shower clean, although wasnt keen on compost toilets but just dont look down haha, Didn’t smell in though so that was good! Was a bit cold on a night wee trip but my oodie made it warmer..Would stay a again.
If you stay you stay take some warm bits for the night.

喜欢: Our first time glamping and we were totally spoilt! Boys had loads of safe space to play their games. Area to go adventuring or a simple wander to see the goats, pigs and singing chickens. Hosts Amy and Simon were attentive to our needs and absolutely faultless. The tents were jam packed with useful items, right down to a beautifully crocheted dishcloth! Shower was to die for! Would definitely recommend!!

喜欢: Such a good stay, so well run and Amy was so happy to help even with a late night delivery of wood. The tents are so comfortable and everything is thought of. Beautiful views and loads of space for the kids to play. We would highly recommend a visit and it definitely left us wanting to go back again. Animals near by gave it a fantastic friendly touch.

喜欢: My and my 10 yes old daughter first time to experience glamping and am so glad I chose little.thornhams Holidays they met my expectations. Clean, comfy, peaceful place to unwind away from a stressful life.

I enjoyed a mini walk from the site to the main road, we actually took a bus going there ,it is accessible by public transport.

Oh I would suggest buying their sausages ut is one of a kind the yummiest sausage iwe have ever tasted.

喜欢: A really peaceful setting with a beautiful view. Very good hot showers. Although facilities are shared, it's two showers/toilets for 4 tents so you'd be unlucky to be in a queue. Nice little kitchen with everything provided.
