Porlock Weir Campsite

喜欢 Great host! Very nice chat. Great location for visiting harbour which is a must. Simple field with stunning view over Bristol channel. Toilet and bins and nothing else. Field slopes but flattened at bottom and ideal for tent pitch. Fresh berries also. Lovely sound of waves on shoreline.

喜欢 Lovely location, very peaceful with stunning views.

Local pub and restaurant within waking distance.

不喜欢 The facilities were as described however feel for the price it would massively benefit from more permanent wash/toilet facilities. It would make the area more appealing considering the surrounding. However for a one night stay didn’t phase us at all.

No takeaway within the near by facilities however only 5 minute drive away.

喜欢 Location was great for walk! Quite and peaceful location it felt like there was only us on the site. Dawn was lovely and gave us lots of tips and places to go.

Very close proximity to the beach and lovely old pub (the Lower Ship - can recommend the Otter Amber for beer lovers !)
Watching the rabbits early morning ( bring some binoculars for a better view)
The sun in the morning coming up over Bossington Hill
The lovely old thatched cottages and the boats in Porlock Weir harbour five minutes walk
The peace and quiet at night after the few cars have departed the local pub
Going to sleep with just the sound of the waves on the shingle shore and the occasional bird calling from the saltmarsh
Nearby Porlock for provisions ( and a pretty place in it’s own right)
On the doorstep of beautiful Exmoor and lovely Lynmouth
Very cheap
Exactly as in the description , no shocks and only nice surprises

不喜欢 Only dislike was the blind exit to the site onto Worthy Toll Road As a solo biker a bit disquieting as no-one to guide me out safely but not really that dangerous as the lane is very quiet.In retrospect should have removed my helmet so I could hear better !

喜欢 Location, view, price, owner was lovely!
Nearby a tiny harbour, pub and restaurant. Plus has an activity center for sea kayaking, mountain biking (including rental) and archery. Decent Mountain biking routes just up the hill.

喜欢 Location is perfect, fabulous views, lots of glorious walks straight from the site. Harbour, pebble beach, pub, cafes short walk down the lane. Quiet & peaceful, just the sound of the sea & the birds, this is a camping field with one clean compost loo & one cold water tap - proper old fashioned back to basics camping! It's a farm field on the edge of Exmoor so does slope, but there are flatter areas, so choose carefully if pitching on a slope bothers you. I think you could pitch anywhere & still have a sea view. There are public flush toilets with hand basins 5 minutes down the lane in the carpark if you prefer. No WiFi, but I had great phone reception (Lebara). Personally, this site was perfect for me, has everything I want/need. Owner (Matthew?) super friendly & welcoming, checks site & loo every day. Loved it & will definitely return.

The price we believe is fair, in fact we often get told that we are too cheap given our great location and views on offer! Thanks very much for booking and good luck!!

喜欢 Location was great for me on The Coleridge Way. Having to climb out of Porlock Weir up and over the A39 meant that extra distance from Porlock was a bonus! It is only one step away from wild camping. 1 composting toilet, 1 cold water tap and that’s your lot, for £9 for a hiking tent I am not complaining. It is a sloping site and quite exposed so be aware of that. But really close to pub food, cafes but no supplies I think.

不喜欢 For £9 per night, per hiking tent, there was nothing I disliked.
